Daronte were both not horrible.
I kmow the thread is about OCs, but after O was canned, Daronte did a heckuva job on D and by that time it was mostly with 2nd team guys. Props to Daronte.

Ensminger gained a lot of respect from me for his time here. I remember when we was TEs coach and took over as OC when called upon and did pretty well. Everyone thought he was an easily replaceable mediocre coach beforehand, but it turned out he was one for the more capable coaches on staff.

I don’t know how anyone could watch Crowton in 2007 and even parts of 2008 then fast forward to 2009-10 and think he was calling his scheme. Miles had his fingerprints over every level of the offense from mid 2008 on. His own worst enemy.

Fact is, if you look back to the 2018 or 2019 LSU Media guide, Miles pretty much owned the LSU Offensive record book with 3 and 4 of his teams placing top 5 all time rushing, passing and scoring.
Yes. Offensive numbers evolved from the days of Curley and Gerry. It’s amazing the amount of WR talent Les got to come to LSU when he’d be fine running the Wing T. Now if you look at Les’ inability to adapt in the 2010s when he should’ve had at least one more title and played for another based on talent.

Yes. Offensive numbers evolved from the days of Curley and Gerry.
So you put this asterisk on 2019 and 2023 also I guess?

The Va Tech in 07 along with the O7 BCS championship game was called by Crowton…that was about as good Offensive gamelan and execution during Miles tenure…went down hill after that…

The right answer is Hassler or whoever led LSU's offense
George Hafner, his claim to fame was he was the UGA OC during the Walker years. I guess you did look good, all you had to do was line up in the I formation and toss the ball to one of the greatest backs of all time.

Miles. It was apparent he controlled the offense. 1970’s Big Ten ancient shite and I was glad to see it go.

I guess you guys who are always thinking about who was the worst at this or that are just negative people. I can’t understand why you want to pick at old scabs.

Survey says Les Miles, the top answer on the board.

It’s more curiosity than negativity. I remember my days as a student (and the few years after)…people bitched about the OC a lot. I was wondering if that was just the Miles era or if it’s always been like that

because fan bases of his previous teams warned us that exact thing would happen.
and most places he’s been all hate him for the same reasons LSU fans do

They say if you want to glimpse the future, just look behind you. I used to think that was bollocks. And now I realise you can't outrun the past. Deckard Shaw, Furious 7.

Dinardo could have hired Rich Rodriguez before the 1999 season, but went with McConnell instead, thus signing his own career death warrant.
