It's kind of funny how these names parallel the baseball coaching search.
Lane Kiffin = Tony Vitello
Urban Meyer = Pat Casey
Bob Stoops = Brian O'Connor (though could be parallel to Pat Casey too)
Hugh Freeze = Cannizaro
Aranda = ? (I guess Alan Dunn if he ever was a HC candidate)
Luke Fickell = Cliff Godwin
??? = Jay Johnson

In your baseball analogy, I think Aranda is the Godwin candidate (LSU connections, fan favorite, we know him well, limited success at smaller school,)
And Fickell is the McDonnell candidate (hot established name, high level of success at big school but not elite power school)

Bad comparison. Aranda has already shown that he can lead a program to success at Baylor.
I do worry about his ability to dominate on the recruiting trail, tough.

James Franklin would be my vote. He was 24-15 at Vandy.... He has had 3 11 win seasons at PSU. He is proven and seems like an all around great guy.
