The overall uniforms can be debated, but my favorite two helmets are:

and

I don't dislike our traditional helmets, but they're not as sharp as the purple and white helmets.

Unpopular opinion. These look 100x better than our purple top with gold helmet and pants.

Frankly purple top with gold helmet and pants is one of the ugliest combos nationally.

However our classic Gold on white is THE GOAT nation wide.

Those purple helmets wouldve been great if they were just purple. The color changing part was lame and looked terrible on tv imo.

I prefer the traditional purple and gold, but the white and purple are pretty sharp.

Those all-whites we wore against Ole Miss were the GOAT uniforms.

I hope they phase out the gold/purple/gold altogether and replace them with these permanently.

Just hope we never frick with our real uniforms.

I assume you mean the gold/white/gold traditional unis. The purple ones are just as real—odd choice of words.

And why do purists always have to say this when we wear a different uniform? No one is “fricking with” anything, so don’t freak out. They’re just adding another uniform. Nothing about the old one is changing (even though it’s been changed several times through the decades—the ones who whine about alternate uniforms always forget this).

I get a chuckle out of the people who say "Alabama, USC, blah blah blah don't change their uniforms so LSU shouldn't be gimmicky either."

First of all, Alabama wore an alternate uniform in the damn national championship in 2013. LSU fans would riot if that happened here.

Second, LSU wears their "traditional" white uniform more than any other school wears any other uniform. LSU has worn the whites, on average, more than 9 times per season since 1978. No one has a tradition as solid as the white jerseys here, and a handful of alternates does nothing to change that.

LSU is white jerseys and gold helmets/pants vs Ole Miss in red jerseys/baby blue helmets is the best uniform matchup.

To each his own but I much prefer the traditional purple jerseys with gold helmets. To me we don’t need any other color scheme because our two traditional uniforms are by far the best, most unique in college football and I love the gold/purple/gold with the black socks and shoes. Besides the traditional whites those are straight greatness. Think of the great wins in those unis, the Earthquake game, the upset of #9 Washington at home (breaking the attendance record in Tiger stadium), beating Norte Dame Hodson’s freshman year, beating #7 A&M in 87 just off the top of my head. While the white helmets most notably represent the Troy loss.

It's not my favorite combo but as long as the Tigers win, and win big, I won't growl.

Im not a fan at all. Way Way too much white. LSU infatuated with white for some reason.

The storm trooper unis are the best alt unit, this is the second best combination.

Of course the traditional uni is far superior to both.

People thinking Bama wearing white tops is an alternate is fun. Maybe they wore a different template, but that’s not an alternate.

I never understood why the "all-white" look as worn against Ole Miss in 2015 has been so widely praised. The Tigers lost big in that game, and didn't look flashy in the process.
