There’s a reason they flipped from one of the leading passing offenses in the FBS to a mediocre passing team with a top rushing attack.

Probably has as much to do about their lack of decent receivers on the team paired with a phenomenal running back group as it does anything negative about Dart. I’m not saying Dart is a great QB but he’s currently better than anything anyone has seen from Walker Howard so it would be insane for Kiffen to promise Howard the starting job over Dart.

Even running scout team gets him reps as opposed to getting 3rd string reps during game weeks.

Put it this way -- is "scout team" helpful to him at all as a developing QB? Or does he just NEED to be a 2nd string QB to get "meaningful rep's" in practice?

I've never bought the idea that WH is just hell bent on starting next year, and expecting team/coaches to get him ready to start.

I MIGHT buy that he's stuck on the scout team again next year, that is about useless to him, so he's leaving just to be QB2 somewhere for better practice reps?

because it's a pretty clear sign BK thinks Nuss is the future of the program

Judging by the bowl game, Nuss is the future over Howard. One looked pretty good the other looked like shite.

and what's the rules on transferring again? Can he? Does he have to wait a year if he transfers again?

Does he have to really make the right decision about where he transfers to? Or can he just transfer again if he doesn't like the next team?

If he has to sit a year after his next transfer .... Ole Miss doesn't seem quite right for the kid?

It would be interesting to know the number of All-American CFB QBs over say the past say 20 years that started their first RS Freshman seasons at 3rd string or below versus those that were 1st or 2nd string then.

he is running an offense vs a defense...that helps development.

I doubt the reps during game week are huge for development...that would be spring, fall and bowl practices. I think he would still do the drills, for development, that JD and Nuss do during the week. I also would think that his responsibilities would change this year since they aren't redshirting him.

For someone who has constantly reminded posters here "we just don't know" .... why would you think we could judge which of the 2 QB's is the future from the bowl game?

WH has 4 pass attempts on the season. Nuss has 84.

a different bench

This time, the bench will at least put him in a familiar offense, and not a dual role.

Agreed. I think Kelly is very comfortable now with Nuss as the QB going forward in 2024.

I don’t think Howard is trying to start the 23 season.

I think he expects to get 2nd team reps and mop up duty and expects to start the 24 season.

Dart has two years left. Howard would have to beat him out.

It's also official, he's mf'ing Tiger Bait.

Going to a rival takes all of the "pleasantries" away.

Absolutely.

What kind of ego dominated "Life Long LSU fan and Legacy", transfers to an SEC West "Historical Rival" school?

That's basically tantamount to spitting in our face!

Wishing him "Good Luck" is not an option.

Makes the Tigers beating of Ole miss even more fun to look forward to, as if that were even possible, yet here we are, and it is

The schools trying to get him are all promising him a chance to compete and they all know he won’t beat out whoever is there. He will be in the same situation wherever he goes unless it’s a crap school that has no starter.

He could've gotten that at LSU. Just beat out Nuss. I guess he didn't see himself doing that so he's opting for softer competition. That's not going to make him a better QB.

Isn't QB-2 a big improvement over QB-3 or Scout team?

Not really- he knows if he goes at worse he’ll be QB2 and won’t be on the scout team - stays at LSU and he would still be QB3

Are there not other places he can go and have a realistic shot at starting? Dart has two years of eligibility and, although a decent college QC, hasn't yet shown he's a pro prospect.
