When was the last time LSU lost the opening game of a Regional?

The 1-4 seeding regional system started in 1999 and LSU has never been a 3 seed before 2021.

They started seeding the 6 team regionals in 1990 and LSU hosted a regional every season from 1990 to 2005 so LSU was never a 3 seed from 1990-1998 either.

No. In 2010 LSU beat Cal-Irvine in extra innings, and proceeded to lose to UCLA the following night 6-3 (LSU as the home team came up short after a big rally in the bottom of the 9th). Then on Sunday we lost 3-4 to Irvine.
