Ed chose poorly when he chose Bo.

But, Scott Woodward signed that contract which, IMO, is the worse fball contract LSU has ever signed. Bo was worth about $500K on the market but we insisted on paying $2.3 guaranteed for 3 years. That is Scott Woodward's fault.

When that fell through it was Ed’s decision to go get Matt Canada. Not Joe Allevas Joe stepped in, in the middle of the season and told Ed to keep his hands off the offense but Canada was 100% Ed’s hand picked hire

Canada looked like a great hire coming off of a Broyles Award. O said he would go get the best guys available and it looked like he hit a home run. It didn’t work, but it’s not quite the same situation as hiring and overpaying Bo straight off of the career resuscitation pile.

Orgeron needs to approach the board and take a 2-3 million dollar reduce over the life of his contract to fire Pelini.

Whether he does it or not is obviously up to him but Bo is on pace to have the worst defense in LSU history and maybe NCAA history.

Millionaire Power Brokers, TAF's, Alums and normal fans (This does not include the Sunshine Pumper Lunatic types) are not going to put up with multiple years of legendary bad/dysfunctional Defense.

Depending on what happens the remainder of the year, will dictate what happens after the season.

Win a few with tremendous defensive improvement, (I doubt if this happens) might buy some time, but if the SOS continues, there will be changes.

I don't care how deep of a financial hole the Athletic Department is in, heads will roll.......

Pelini isn’t getting fired till next football season at the earliest.

Athletic departments across the country are about to lose 100s of millions

Businesses across the country are losing millions and have no stability right now

The optics of it would be incredibly poor. I think once things settle out hopefully next year you’ll see a little more movement.

1) COVID has hit everyone. I wonder how many boosters are willing to fork up 4.6 million for Bo not to coach.

COVID has not really affected the wealthy. Big money boosters have plenty of coin IF that’s where they want to spend their money. How many times will they step into to fix Orgeron’s crappy hires is the real question?

I don't think that's going to stop anyone from writing a check, Lester.

Boosters want to boost. If they really want Bo gone, they'll stroke.

#2) We just went through this and paid Canada 1.5 million not to coach. I wonder how many times these boosters are going to be ok with stroking these checks for Ed’s frick ups.

The back side of this is everytime you solicit a large check from someone you just sold a piece of your soul to a booster. Checks like that dont come without strings attached...

I don’t see Eaux’s much younger girlfriend allowing him to voluntarily take a 2-3 million dollar pay cut

IMO, the pay scale for football coaches is ridiculously stupid--contract too long with way too much money

The athletic department still has to make the decision and they will not want to face that scrutiny. Not now. It's not about what the boosters want.

Bo’s not going anywhere this year - unless there’s some sort of locker room issues.

What scrutiny? Firing the coordinator of a defense that is, statistically speaking, the worst defense in the history of a program?

I'm not saying it will happen, but I don't feel like the athletic department would face much scrutiny if they did.

If they absolutely feel Bo has to go after this year, absolutely should take it out of O’s contact. He wanted him, so pay the price for bad judgment.

PS - add Linehan to the list to get rid of. Dude is garbage.

Bo’s not going anywhere. He has like 5 players from the ‘17 and ‘18 class in the two deep. This is a young defense.

The whispers starting coming ..

They don’t take assault very seriously, but they sure do take their foosball seriously

On the academic side, “oh you can raise $5mil for this, but what about the library” blah blah blah

Not when getting into the football stuff. He’s only had 6 games. Had no offseason.

Lost all 4 projected starters on the DL coming into the year.

Lost 4 LBs to nfl in the offseason

Most tenured DB opted out

Oh yea, he just so happens to run a different defense

He’s not getting canned, just accept it.

The assault that our defense is taking trumps what happens in the dorm rooms. I know that upsets the Rachel Maddow types out there, but..Bruce Hornsby.

Pelini's defense gave up 44 points to State, and it took State over 4 games to score 44 again. You lost to Missouri, a team that you would have been a 50-point favorite against last season. You gave up 48 to Auburn, a team you held to 20 points last year.

Welcome to NFLSU. This is what you should expect. The opting out part? Not exclusive to LSU. Many college teams felt this.

This is on Coach O and Woodward. Did we not learn anything from Lou Tepper '98?

Perhaps not, but that's not where our debate lies. We are debating on whether or not the athletic department's firing of Bo would be scrutinized, and with the results of the defense in which he's coordinating, it wouldn't be.
