Only 35 games in at LSU.

Not really comparable to what a coach can accomplish at Grand Valley State, CMU, Cincinnati, or Notre Dame.

Which losing HC would you like to hire next?

I don't trust Nuss one bit after he sold out at aTm.

I have been an active LSU fan since I was 9 years old in 1960. I waited through 44 seasons to see LSU win a natty. My LSU fandom is not contingent on winning either an SEC or a national title.

So, I have no idea what year LSU will win a NC next in football. My best guess is sometime between today and 2028.

Regrettably, I am beginning to think it will take AT LEAST six more years.
It will take us three to get rid of Kelly.
It will take a new coach at least three years to have a shot.
The only good news is that Kelly will not leave LSU with the horrible roster and culture that Ed O left behind.

The only hope i see for a deviation from this timeline is that the 25 class looks very strong and 26 could be, as well.

I was giving you reasons why you can’t compare Kelly to Saban before making the conclusion.

Also, Dinardo left Saban a fully stocked roster?

Kelly has not won a National Championship in major college football. If we want to talk about who the best choice is for Grand Valley State, we can include Kelly.

Saban is a better coach than Kelly by every metric and he will have won one more NC and one more SECC in 5 years than Kelly will have won in the same amount of time at LSU.

I will bet you real money Kelly never wins a NC or SEC at LSU within his first 5 seasons. He is a fraud and everything in his history supports that conclusion. We can discuss amount if you wish.

Sure, of course, you were. Except that you can compare Kelly and Saban, as you did, and as I did. They are comparable.

He sure as hell did. Have you looked at the roster Saban inherited? There's a veritable shitton of talent on that roster.

Saban has had more success than Kelly. Everyone agrees. No one is questioning that fact. But for the vast majority of Saban's career, Saban coached with the benefit of #1 recruiting classes. Saban always coached with a HUGE talent advantage. After his first few years, his team NEVER had less talent than his opponent, and yet sometimes Saban still lost.

Kelly did not have that same luxury at Notre Dame. But now that he's at LSU, he trending there. His recruiting classes are trending up. He has the #2 class for next year. He has the #1 player, QB, RB, CB, and IOL for next year.

Kelly has done a better job at LSU than Saban did in his first three years at LSU. Saban lost five games in his third year. Saban lost four of his last six games to close the 2002 season. Kelly is trending up year over year. You have no idea what will happen with Kelly in his first five years at LSU. You have no idea what will happen the next two years, except Saban is not going to coach LSU; Kelly is going to coach LSU; so you better hope Kelly does well.

I do. Nothing of substance (SECC or NC) will happen. Willing to bet if you are.

How about we put and end to this particular bullshite right now. Your wager proposal is for the National Champion for 2024. 2025, or 2026. I get Kelly, and you get the field.

For this year, 2024, LSU doesn't have the talent or depth if LSU even made the playoffs.

For 2025, Kelly's recruits will be in their third year, and most top ten teams will still have more talent/depth than LSU.

So, it basically comes down to 2026. I get Kelly, and you get the field.

GFY. That might be the most moronic wager ever.
