Those are the two goalpost games that come to mind. Whatever became of those monsters? Did they leave them on the field or did fans haul them out?

Got the north one down after Alabama 2000 too

They greased those bitches up before the game but the students were able to get the north ones down. People were taking their clothes off to wipe off the grease.

I recall a group trying to haul a piece of it to the top of the stadium to throw over the side, stopped by police. (97 Florida)

97 they were put back up. A lot of fans signed them, including the contractor who repaired them, so they were repainted as well.

Should have cut them into 3" sections and sold them.

1982 Florida State the students tried to rush the field. The police were having none of it. A few made it to the goal posts and were treated to beatings with night sticks for their trouble.

I was out in the goal post after that Bama game. I remember two big arse guys grabbed me and said “ get your arse up there and bring it down.”

It was covered in grease but I held on till it come down.

I was at 97 and remember they took the north endzone post up the student section and almost threw them over the edge out of the stadium.

People were cutting up sections of the field and taking grass home.

Yep. I was in that number. Took a couple of big chunks. One of the chunks I divided up four ways when I got back to Jax and mailed to four antagonist Gator fan buddies over here.

Goal posts came down like 3 times In 2000.
They started greasing them up.

I can’t remember which game it was but posts came down and saban was like “I don’t get it .. we beat a BAD team”!! He learned quickly.

I have it on good authority that a piece of one of them resides in Beauregard Parish.

I don't know what happened to the north goal post in the '97 game, but I got a hand on it before I backed away and saw the goal post collapse on top of some people. It happened fast.
