bullshite. With all the d*ck sucking, this is a legit question.
All posts are overly happy "we got Kiffin". But when do we regret we got what we asked for?
I for one love a program coach (Saben/Miles). Kiffin wins a NC, but so did O. Question is, where is Kiffen in 3 years?
To answer OP, NC in 3 years or bust. Because he will be gone in 4.

If he doesn’t make playoffs year one there’s a discussion

You should listen to that voice in your head when it says don't post retard.

I would say bust if mo playoffs in the first 3 years. Approaching bust if not in first 2 years. Would like to make a run in first 4 years.

quote:People downvote you as if LSU doesn't have the potential to do it when Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State and Oregon do this consistently. Georgia and Alabama don't have more potential than LSU. They've just had elite coaching and they've had that elite coaching for a lot longer.
For me, LSU must be in the playoffs and finish 1-2-3 in the SEC every year.
I differ from you in that I believe that a coach needs a little time to get his feet under him in order to have the program running at the level he needs it to(usually 3 years)
Like this season, it will be a completely revamped offensive line again. They will be better than this past season's offensive line, but they won't be good by any means(imo) That takes time. Even if he gets Chambliss, Lacy, Watkins and Deuce Alexander from OM, because of the offensive line, they still likely aren't as productive as this year's OM team on offense.
Then there's the defensive side of the ball. We need a stud edge rusher. That's something LSU hasn't had since Arden Key. We need at least one each at Edge, DT, CB and Safety. Also probably a guy who can play the star position. So many things have to go right to be elite.
I don't see that as something that can be done in one off season.

High expectations from someone who probably doesn't even have a job.

I agree. We're paying him a boatload of money, hired all his assistants that he wanted, given him a massive NIL package to work with and he doesn't even have to leave the State of Louisiana to fill every need he has, so yes, I expect him to win immediately.
NIL/Transfer portal have changed the landscape of college football, and if Indiana, Texas Tech and Vandy can turn their programs around overnight, so can LSU.

The first three and out offensive drive.

For what he’s getting paid? Those are not unreasonable expectations. I mean didn’t LSU just flush $53 million to get rid of a 3/4 loss coach? We will have paid Kiffin $45 million in 3 years. If we’re not at the top of the league all three years, it’s a bust.

I'll judge him in year 3

I'll give it 1 year probation period...with the money LSU is paying him, combined with the NIL money, there is no reason we aren't in the playoffs within 2 years..and I damn sure haven't given up on next year either. It isn't like we are starting over...we have some talent on board, albeit young mostly...but that's a good thing.

We will wait a couple of years to decide. An answer now would be like living in a fantasy world.

LSU must at least play in the national championship game within the next 4 seasons or the Lane Train will derail and move on.

TIME!!!! YEARS!
So how about we all just give the man 2-3 seasons before we start this shite on here?
He hasn’t coached a god damned game yet.
You people are completely miserable.

It takes a special mind to think of something so stupid.
