He’s better than any corner that we’ve signed since Stingley, he’s a true 6’4” 191lb 18yr old on arrival. He’s practiced longer than any freshmen, he was there even for Bowl practice.
Remember O claimed that DS could’ve started in the bowl game. Now CBK wouldn’t speak the same off the cuff as that, but I’m sure everyone on staff has the same vibe.
He will eventually weigh 220 if he keeps all his athletic quickness at this size(as big as any NFL DB) I cannot see him not being a new member of DBU instantly. He’s a dude!

I would not be surprised to see Pickett start by mid-season if not sooner.
His role is to "Pick It," if a pass comes close to his vicinity. Also to blanket those receivers and also play the run effectively.
It seems like he will be a quick study, but then he will have to outcompete some other more experienced talent. He seems to be ready to do that.

He'll be Singley dominant from the word go.

My nightmare scenario is that Stamps will start game 1 and not turn around and look for the ball yet again while DJ comes off the bench and looks the part but one of Clemson’s star receivers will score a late game TD to win it while DJ is back on the bench in favor of Stamps. BK will complain about it and say how he and the staff “didn’t make the right moves to win the game” or some shite and we shall start 0-1 yet again doing the same thing we’ve done the last 4 seasons, which is going with the more “experienced guy” when it’s completely obvious that he’s not the best guy.

if its close they will go with Pickett starting, you gotta play the guys that you can't afford to transfer if its close. plus, you know if its close now that itll be Pickett by a mile if you give him the pt to learn.. woodland and stamps are OK players buy they're not the kind of guys that can come in and shut a good receiver down.
we're not going to have to rely on those types of guys anymore, we now have money to spend in the portal and money to throw at recruits, the days of having low ceiling 3 star type corners are a relic of the past.
those guys will play but they won't be our typical transfers or high school recruits anymore

Charge right up the middle

He will be starting game 1. He is 6'4 and was the #1 corner in HS. He will be the next great corner like many before him and will be a high draft pick. He was practicing with the team during the bowl game so he will be as ready as he can be, and we will need his talent vs Clemson's WR crew

Pickett more represents Patrick Peterson type. I’m not saying he’s as good as Patrick Peterson. I’m just saying that’s what he would more represent rather than stingly.
What do you mean?

Stingley also had Fulton who was pretty damn good opposite of him

Starter at outside corner.

He’s going to lead his division up the center and try to split the union forces in two at the stone wall.

Pickett is a 6'4 ball hawk who may be a better zone corner than man corner.
Regarding this year, Pickett will likely line up on the outside from day 1 with Stamps. Delane will play some outside, but he's more likely going to get nickel looks. Haulcey has one safety spot locked up, and the other will go to Toviano/Spears/Cooley/Gilbert - whichever one can tackle better in space.
