I remember listening to the postgame commentary back in the last two years of Archer and the entire Curley regime. After a home loss, of which there were many, multiple callers would call in and say, "it's the uniforms' fault." That became a mantra for three seasons, but that excuse wore out in 1994 when we were humiliated in Auburn on the road -- in our good white jerseys -- but only then was the coaching, not the uniform, pegged as the real problem with LSU football back in that inglorious era.

That was one of the first screw job games by the SEC. Fred Booker pick 6 erased by a late phantom lined up in the neutral zone flags.

That happened after Vandy refused to let us wear white. So we had the first white out game.

And it was pouring down rain .. and we all han ponchos or hell maybe even umbrellas and Dan Borne says “show us your white” and we did!

I’d love the Gold, Purple, Gold… I think it’s classic. Maybe they could wear throw back helmets with the numbers on the side of the helmets and grey facemask…
