Purple-gold-purple is a traditional staple of LSU uniforms. It's beautiful. This "unlucky" nonsense is from a fan base with a low IQ.

My opinion has nothing to do with a jinx. I like when we wear yellow/purple/yellow at home. I think it looks great on our field.

I don't think it looks as good in road stadiums. I like the white/purple/white look better on turf like Ole Miss has.

If Ole Miss wears white helmets, we should wear gold helmets.

You mean like the National Championship Game in 2004 vs Oklahoma?

Or 2019 vs Oklahoma

Must not apply vs the Sooners

ETA: Missed the word don't

This "unlucky" nonsense

It has its own history. Before that road game in Florida on an extremely hot afternoon in 1965, LSU had worn the G/P/G style in road games about a dozen times beginning in 1960. Because of that loss and another loss at Miami in 1968, the curse factor came into play. That notion of G/P/G as "cursed" reached pathological proportions in 1994 after six straight losing seasons under Archer and Curley Hallman.

That is truly a possibility

As I reread the post I responded to, I see I completely missed one small word, "don't"

Show up in white jerseys as well. The worse that can happen is you get assessed a timeout to start the game like UCLA and USC do every year with their dark vs dark.

Isn't this what they're requesting fans to wear and not necessarily what the football team is wearing?

I want to wear them and kick Ole Miss’s arse this weekend just so we can end that unlucky BS once and for all.

Yes, but they have an All-White game where they supposedly are going to wear all white uniforms...I haven't seen any reports where they say Ole Miss is going to wear their all white unis.

Don't care. Jerseys do not win or lose games. The coaches and players do.
Exactly right, well said. Just take care of your assignment and things will work out just fine.

Former LSU coach Mike Archer faced the same jersey stupidity from a childish fan base in the 1980s. He continued to win in purple and sometimes made comments about how ridiculous the "unlucky" jerseys were. Some LSU fans are beyond ignorant and, I'm afraid, vote. Which is frightening.

Tigers also beat Oklahoma and Baylor (Texas Bowl) back-to-back in 2024 in that uniform. And it looks very good
