That getting a player ready for the NFL takes priority over the LSU fighting Tigers winning football games. If the program itself's main goal is not winning football games but getting players ready at the next level then why should I care so much? Perhaps it's been over 40 years of games with my family and friends and the nostalgia of it all that keeps me so emotionally invested but I have to say that hearing that from Brian Kelly was really eye opening. This is why Nuss isn't playing. It is more important to Kelly to get JD ready for the league then it is to win.

You’re being slightly dramatic. It’s not the main goal.

It’s complete bullshite. It’s best for Denver Harris’s NFL future to play him. It’s best for Nuss to play him. At what point is the line drawn and he quits worrying about someone’s pro prospects at the detriment to the team he’s getting paid $10mil/year to coach?

I know it is dramatic. But I love LSU football.

If a player isn’t going to be willing to do what he can to help the team, what good is he doing on the field. He also shouldn’t be getting NIL money.

In their defense, that’s literally what college is for.

I thought the pregame prerecorded interview with Woodward and Hanny was great. Scott said in the interview that he was hopeful that the fans who watched the game win or loose felt good about where the program was going. After all this I am not hopeful at all. To know that the team takes a back seat to individual goals is a real bummer. What happen to

"there is no I in team?"

It wasn't that we lost. It was how it happened and knowing why.

Acting like the NFL doesn’t posses coaches that can develop players

Harold Perkins is a 1st round draft pick regardless of where he plays on the field based on what he displayed last season

Nuss has a great arm and is willing to let it fly more than JD, so I like that and I wouldn't have had any issue putting him in when the offense wasn't getting it done in the 2nd half to see if he could make something happen.

With that said, let's not act like JD is a total bum. He helped us have a way better than expected year last year and was Offensive SEC Player of the Week in consecutive weeks against big opponents in Ole Miss and Bama. We FINALLY beat Bama in Tiger Stadium with Daniels playing QB (a gigantic weight lifted) and won the West, so it's not like Kelly is playing some guy who has done nothing.

However, regarding Perkins, I agree that totally changing his role and saying we need to prepare him for the NFL is a bit of BS. We want to prepare our players for the NFL, but competitive advantage for LSU is the #1 priority. The NFL is already aware of Perkins' skills as it pertains to potential future NFL success.

I learned that Florida state is our daddy and we need to start seasons off with tune up games like most everyone else.

I used to say this when miles was here.

I don’t give a F about the nfl.

I don’t care how much or how little money any current lsu football player makes at the next level or even if they make it.
Not the first one prior or future has ever sent a check endorsed to tigrlee.

I care about LSU winning every game they play.
That’s it.

Call me a dick. Call me an a-hole idgaf.

Least I’m honest.
My priority and level of care is with lsu football that’s it.

This is what I learned . The fact that the team’s abysmal performance was a surprise to Kelly is worrisome . Either he was not present at practices or he really doesn’t know what it takes to win at this level .
The JD for the Heisman campaign should end . The kid can’t make all the throws accurately and cannot identify who to throw to quickly . He has played long enough to know better . NFL is a pipe dream . Nuss should be developed into a starting role .
The best talent at OC and DC needs to be hired . That is what Saban has done . He isn’t hiring his homeys from West Virginia . Yes , you DO need to compete for the best players . In the SEC , games are highly competitive and decided by playmakers . The BEST players need to play , even if they are freshmen . That is what Saban does . Don’t want to hear what Saban does ? Well , when you win 7 Nattys , let me know . Interesting that Deion was picking Saban’s brain . We need speed and size in the defensive backfield . No reason we can’t get off our fannies and recruit it . The SEC is the most competitive CFL league , period .
