We can NOT give them a defensive touchdown.

Number one issue - Oline has to have a good game, and the staff as to help with play-calling. Alabama's defense has been mauling opponents. the only teams to score a lot were good passing teams, and they had to execute under duress. we must take what the defense gives. do not run into a stone wall over and over again. success in the passing game - moving the chains, will open up the run. if fournette and guice can get some early holes and bust a few, likewise that will open up the passing game.

defense must play great, and do a good job of stuffing the run. their oline does not pass protect well, and hurts is not a seasoned passer.
we can force turnovers and punts.

Play for 60 minutes with focus and intensity.

This mentality got Les miles fired. You have to be able to hit some passes down the field early. Alabama will be able to stop the run and probably the short passes early but if DE can hit the receivers like chark/dupree from last night down the field then bama will have to play off the receivers and not load the box. This Must be DE breakout game in order to win! This will have to be a case of the pass opened up the run not the other way around.

Bama QB must be held to short runs. Maybe have a spy on him at all times somebody fast .Lastly the defense will have to play lights out . Hell all parts of the team will have to play great! I believe we will give it our best shot and have a chance .

The key to beating Alabama is simple yet difficult because if their talent. On both sides of the ball you have to win on first down. You can't let them dictate the game by winning first downs.

Protect Etling. That's the ultimate key.

He gets good protection...we can complete intermediate passes for first downs...we can loosen them up enough for our punishing run game to get on track...the defense can stay off the field enough and keep the game close enough to be able to play freely

2012 and 2014 all over again...

Without Chavis

With a freshman, not AJ or 6th year senior Simms at Qb trying to win the game for them

I say let Williams rush wide and slip a rb out for a screen early on. Let him stay aggressive and burn him on it. Then, he will have to consider the play call and be back on heels more often. We can run right through him then. There dbs will pass interfere every play....they are basically coached to do so. We have to be competitive in the air and block them out and use our shoulders and elbows to gain leverage. Etling is key.......Bama likes to play man to man.....he will need to step up and run at times. I think we will still run the ball a ton, but i'm hoping to see misdirection and really make the lbs and safeties work laterally. We do not need to double team Williams in my opinion, but we have to take good drop steps. Throwing to the rb/fb/te releasing will be big in this game.

OL, OL, and MORE OL. They need to keep Bama out of the backfield. Give DE some time, and provide LF/Guice a crease. Just a crease to bust a few runs to sustain drives, win the TOP/Field Pos, and get points. Game will be worn in the trenches.

D needs to withstand the ground/pound, and force their young qb into mistakes. He threw two picks in the 1st half v TAM. Put pressure on him....and HIT him when he runs.

We got this!

Will have to play a virtual mistake free game to win. Have to be hitting on all cylinders. No picks and no fumbles on Offense.

More peddle to the metal. Throwing on first down. Short, high % passes to loosen and spread em out. Use # 7 as a decoy early on. More of what we've been doing, but in a higher efficiency. We aint running into a solid wall up the middle against them either, like Schembechler tried to force every year either. Will take a special and creative game plan on Offense to pull it off.

Display team unity as well. Totally eliminate the Purple Panti-Hose or have everybody on the team wearing them. Everybody with White Shoes. No ME. Only WE! All the uniform "Freelancing" looks like shite and shouldn't be allowed. That's not showing "One Team, One Heart."

We need to get the Bama D going left and right. Not straight ahead. We need our D to use pocket containment to make them throw the ball.

Run almost every play out of shotgun with both RBs standing next to Etling. Run a lot of read option fakes that involve both RBs. You have to make their defenders hesitate cause we won't be able to run it against them straight up. The biggest thing for Etling is he cannot turn the ball over at all.

Expect to see Run-Pass options to freeze the Bama LBs along with Jet Sweep motions.

I think the key to beating that front 7 is to get the ball out of Etling hands quick. That's one way to negate a great pass rush. Short quick routes mixed in with a few deep balls

Another play that could be big is that swing pass to the RB like the one to LF last night. if we can hit a few of those then those could be money! would love to see LF truck rueben foster to return the favor

Watch OM v. Bama film for the last three years and replicate. Freeze has been the only coach to game plan well enough to beat Bama with inferior talent on a consistent basis.

we also NEED to protect the football and not allow their defense to score.

limit their defensive points and that'll make a huge difference
