re: Is Florida State back?

Looking at FSU's schedule, they're poised for a 5-0 start. Going 3-4 over their final 7 games, would put them at 8 wins with a chance for 9 in a bowl game. It looks like they'll be a respectable loss this year.
re: Can we use this momentum tomorrow?

When our team has been hot this year, it's always carried over through entire weekends/multiple games. Hope the trend continues.
He is the key to LSU getting to Omaha. With Hillard keeping us in every game, having Floyd gives us a 1-2 punch in the pitching rotation and a chance to keep our stout bullpen fresh for the end of games.
re: IMO this Texas game will be similar to Miami

LSU's rushing attack will determine this game. If Burrow has to throw more than 30+ that is bad for LSU. Don't want a shootout style game in Austin. We want to control the clock and wear Texas down.

I suppose there's just too many recruits to do it all in one event. Still, I am glad McKinley went to LSU's instead of both at bama. Maybe he wasn't invited to the 2nd one. Still, at least he didn't just snub LSU. Looks like O is closing the gap. And I don't know how anybody else feels about this upcoming season, but I truly believe 2019 will be the best chance LSU has had to beat bama since 2011. A lot of talented and experienced players are coming back.
Yes Bama will be very green at the line of scrimmage this year while LSU returns lots of experience.

It's always interesting to look back.
Miami turned out to be a dog. Way it goes.
LSU was flawed offensively from jump all year long.
I'm sure it wasn't scheme though.
New QB with only summer/fall practice to prepare. Very green O-Line as well. Very little returning carries at RB. Finally, a bunch of new starters at WR with not many career catches. All said Steve Ensminger did a pretty good job.

Hugh coaching at Tennessee vs Bama every year. Win for LSU.

Ensminger could have 10 years to prepare, he’s still not out coaching Saban.
Gotta think the O-Line can play better than the last game.

Id rather make the sugar bowl than get embarrassed again by Bama round 1. The team doesnt deserve to make the playoffs.
Downvote if you want its the truth
LSU with D White to start the game and a month to prepare would be interesting.

We forget that UF game quick don’t we?
At the Swamp vs. UF who we have a history of close games with. Haven't blown them out since 2011 in TS.
LSU hitting Its stride now

Remember Burrow has only worked with this offense since Fall Camp. You can tell he's getting better with running the offense and it showed today. I think we could see the offense hit its full stride going forward after today. Today was a statement game by the team. We have Miss St next and Bama after at home. We've had 2 monster SEC home games on offense so far. No reason to think we can't roll on the next 2 games either. Great win this weekend!
We'll wear them down in TS

The game is absolutely important. Hell, it could even be a defining win.
LSU can win it if gets some breaks and it executes well.
Definitely a state of the program type game. Winning sends a huge statement across the SEC and nationally. Huge game for recruits in attendance as well.

I think we need to stretch the field. Unleash the horses at wide receiver and let them run. We'll need to score points through chunk plays reversing field position. I think our receivers are more talented and athletic than their DB's.
I think we'll look to Sullivan down the field to try to pick up some chunk plays.
re: ESPN “LSU’s QB told me “Joe Burrow is football”
Posted by 901Tiger on 9/12/18 at 3:52 pm to TrueTigerTale
Considering he's already graduated and can focus on football full time. Yes! Joe Burrow is Football!
I think Sullivan makes some big catches for us this Saturday.

Well, I could see him being open to redshirting. This is Burrow's team, same as it was Etling's last year.
Completely makes sense that he do what he can to gain that extra season- that would give him 2 as the probable starter, with experience in the program and a legit arm.
We need to get away from the mindset that everyone needs to leave after 3 seasons- a QB gets better with more practice. He could be great right off the bat, but will still be better the more he learns.
Now, if you're a stud prospect at a position with a short lifespan, by all means go early. But if a QB is good in the NFL, he's going to last a decade.
I saw a report that had Myles at 6'5'' now. If so he's still growing into his body. He already has a strong arm and it could get stronger.

LSU 2016 with a few more RPOs and worse Runningbacks.
We haven’t visited with any team who runs an Air Raid, or any variation of what Briles was running. We have visited the saints and the Seahawks and other pro teams.
“Spreading it out” doesn’t mean we’re running a spread, and we all saw pheavy sets in the spring game. We’re running a multiple offense.
"Spreading it out" means we're spreading the ball around on offense. For instance, in 2WR 2TE 1 HB sets we'll use all 5 eligible receivers (Miles had low TE passing production).

It's like "THE PURGE" at the Swamp.
Tua's played a great half and had blow spot pt so it's tough to say how that will translate to being a full time starter right now. I think BAMA has a more complete offense right now than UGA; however, UGA has a more developed QB to compensate.
Opposing Offenses
Posted by 901Tiger on 7/28/18 at 3:14 pm
There's been a lot of comments about our offense; however, which opposing offense should we be concerned about going against our elite defense this year. Keep in mind UGA, BAMA, and MSU are at Death Valley.
