Also what coach worth a shite would ever come coach if the university didn’t pay a legal binding contract dispute?
This is the position LSU is in, in a nutshell.

If you have something on Kelly, come out now and hope it stands up. Otherwise, pay up or we're done for the foreseeable future. Coaches have agents, they talk, and they'll blacklist a place that fricks people over.

This will all likely settle out at $30-$35m imo… but it would be pretty funny if things turn out this way:

-LSU offered $30m. Kelly said no
-LSU really never had any true intention of actually going the “for cause” route and was just using that to get the lump-sum settlement number down
-Kelly’s camp gets frustrated with lump sum negotiation talks
-Kelly’s camp goes to the court to try and preemptively end the “for cause” threats
-Court rules that LSU does indeed have standing to fire for cause if it chooses and actually opens the door for LSU to consider firing for cause
-LSU fires for cause and Kelly gets nothing

-to sum up… Kelly could have taken the $30m and walked away clean but unintentionally opens the door to a for cause firing that LSU initially had no intention to do.

Like I said, doubtful it plays out that way…. But it’s certainly possible that Kelly and his attorneys opened the door to potentially get nothing when it had a clean $30m offer from the get-go

He told Scott Woodward that he was a "Championship Coach"! Thus, the mis presentation of the truth, a Fraud!

even if that was in the contract for cause, an overall record of 34-14, 5-3 at time of termination, a Heisman winner, and sec west division champ would nullify that claim

Some of the rumors include alcoholism, adultery, dereliction of duties, etc. all of which are allegations that have not been made by the university.

Yet...

I mean a number of patrons and employees at Ruth's Chris steak house maybe could at least attest to an altercation with parties that would be suggestive of controversy. Being full of shite on Torsogate and apparent concealment of #18 injury from some time in spring if you listen to MS talk radio. and smoke screening and gaslighting everyone about it (spoiled!) should actually be the nuts on the shite sundae. I mean, the QB gets paid over $6 million. The school expends a lot in brand capital and promo spend to have #18 be the Heisman early frontrunner. We spend a bunch of money on receivers to take the top off of defenses instead of his hallmark OL callingcard and oops, the quarterback can't throw past 20yds because of an allegedly concealed torso injury. But you're spoiled for expecting offensive production. What a necksnapper..

If he wasn’t drunk/drinking at work or at work functions, how is this relevant?

You've never been around a guy who consistently dragged arse because he was always hungover?

I agree on this one. It's not the 1950s. As long as he's not beating his wife their business is their business.

Audibly berating players with profanity, etc.

Comments about players.

Berating members of the media.

Criticizing the fans expectations.

Lack of improvement on the field during his tenure...even regression.
Especially being unable to control the line of scrimmage.

Other things.

These things, individually and collectively, harm the brand and the school/State reputation.

That's 50% of the state population.

Seriously though, LSU is going to suffer long-term damage to it's brand by dragging this out in public. They need to STFU and pay the douchebag.

If he is funded by the State, then that is problematic for any future coach. My bet is that contract is at a minimum backstopped or wholly funded by TAF.

LSU could make the argument that adultery qualifies as moral turpitude, which is listed as a for cause reason for termination in his contract.

Research the law firm representing Kelly. That firm is one of the most prestigious law firms in the US. Best of the best. They know exactly what they are doing.
