Apparently losing games.

Not listening to Scott Woodward, who was also fired. There was no more alignment

None of us knows that answer and even if we did fire for cause, there’d be a lawsuit about the notice, the facts, and other things lawyers can come up with

Nothing, and this isn’t going to court.
Do you believe the State attorneys don't have a leg to stand on?

If he wasn’t drunk/drinking at work or at work functions, how is this relevant?
Additionally, what does his marriage have to do with his work unless he was sleeping with a staffer, coworker, or athletic department employee?

Is being Damn Carpetbagging Yankee enough cause?

You askin' me for the police report? You want the... the autopsy?
I'll tell you what he did. He committed the worst crime of all, pal. He was BORING.
He went out there in front of a hundred thousand people... and he put 'em to sleep! It was a snooze-fest! He looked like a guy waiting for a bus in the rain!
You think they fired him for losin' games? Please. They fired him because he had zero pizzazz! He had no sparkle!
He walked the sideline like a... like a nervous dentist! Where was the show? Where were the girls? Where was the orchestra?
You want to keep a job in this town, you gotta entertain! You gotta be ME! But this guy? He was a wet blanket. He sucked the life out of the stadium just by breathin'.
He was a bum, sweetheart. A total zero. And that's a fireable offense in my book.
Now get outta my face. You're startin' to remind me of him. beat it!

I have no idea if it’s true or not, but there have certainly been whispers of being drunk at the office.
I personally don’t think LSU will go that route, though. If LSU does try to make it “for cause” which I doubt they will, it’ll probably be more along the lines of “AD told you to do something and you refused.”
This suit is merely about did/does LSU even have standing to make this a “for cause” firing. Even though they haven’t officially/legally tried to do that yet. We don’t yet know if LSU is actually trying to do that, though, or was merely using that as verbal threats. This suit is merely Kelly and his lawyers trying to preemptively remove the whole “for cause” discussion off the table for lump sum settlement negotiations.

The rumors have been on here plenty. Possibly an extramarital affair, an excessive amount of golf including on weeks of games lost, drinking in his office at the facility. I don’t know if any of these are true, but they have all been mentioned.

Some of the rumors include alcoholism, adultery, dereliction of duties, etc. all of which are allegations that have not been made by the university.

If it goes to court he will win, but he may never get paid. His lawsuit is against the State. And the state appropriations committee would have to vote to pay him. Seems like he could actually get robbed.
This is false. Also what coach worth a shite would ever come coach if the university didn’t pay a legal binding contract dispute?
He is going to get paid. How much is yet to be determined. Kelly is more than likely wealthy and isn’t dependent on his buyout to live comfortably. Time is on his side not LSU.
His contract has a morality clause. How specific it is I don’t know. That usually comes into play if there is a crime committed. Adultery and drinking won’t help LSU win a legal battle.

Seems pretty dependent on it to me. He sued within 3 weeks, before even being officially/formally notified that he wouldn’t be getting paid.
He didn’t even wait to see if he was gonna be paid as contracted. He sued BEFORE lol.
And don’t forget his wife is gonna get half of whatever he gets.

Andy Kaufman was the best troll before there were trolls.
Tony Clifton was one of the best characters of all time.
Bob Zmuda and Andy's brother Michael would dress up and perform as Clifton along with Andy to give the allusion that Tony was a real person. Its a shame one of them didn't create a comedy act as Clifton.
