We've been in this section my entire life. this is the worst its ever been. the past 2 seasons, we have rolled over our tickets. We will most likely be giving them up for good. The gameday experience is terrible.

This^^^^^^. Traffic after games is horrible. People leave or do not go to the games because of this. If the city had any forethought, they would have fixed the traffic issue long ago.

THe answer is obvious and you stated it in your first sentence. Other than that, you just need a smaller stadium. If you want to get a full stadium with 102000 seats you need a performance that warrants that on a cold and windy night (I was there from well before the kickoff until it ended).

If you're gonna put up Vanderbilt level performances, you won't fill up a stadium 2.5 times the size of theirs.

Then close off the upper decks and put a banner over them.
The lower bowl is 80K. That’s all we need to be loud.
Don’t sell tickets for the uppers until we’re a top 5 team.

take away the family atmosphere by playing crappy piped in rap music...I'm from Louisiana...or whatever the hell he's saying
Why do we even have a band? To play three songs?
Sell crappy concessions
Make them park miles away from the stadium
overbuild the stadium for luxury suites and then have too many tickets left over leaving the stadium too spread out for games
Make driving home after a game take until 2 or 3 in the morning if you stay for the 4th quarter...
I could go on and on...

bullshite.

Notre Dame played Cincinnati this season in a matchup of top 10 teams. AT LEAST 1/3rd of the crowd was Cincinnati fans...unless ND fans just decided to wear red

This post is hilarious because I was legitimately surprised with how many people showed up to watch a shitty last place LSU team lose in 40 degree weather, or at least what felt like it with that wind.

You'd have a point if we were 7-2 or even 6-3 going into the game, but that crowd was very generous for a 4-5 now 4-6 team.

I feel like LSU is intentionally trying to keep people off of campus. They cut the port o lets in half this year. The lines are unbelievable. Additionally, there are less trailer parking passes. Either that or the people in the ticket office don't know what they are talking about. I've parked a trailer on campus for 10 years and never had an issue getting a parking pass. All of a sudden this year they are running out. I truly believe they are trying to keep people off of campus.

Exactly. I remember games in the 90's when LSU sucked. Stadium was always full, loud, and a constant party when the capacity was "only" 80,000 (sarcasm font)

You also didn't have smart phones computers in your pockets, massive internet, and HD TV at home, so the game was the only thing competing for your attention.

Like its been said, this issue isn't related to just LSU, as all venues are

The game day atmosphere on campus was excellent and I-thought the crowd was fine at the beginning. The people around me were leaving early because it was freezing cold. I told them it was a good thing that they are not Ohio State or Michigan fans.

SOunds good in theory but what do you do with season ticket holders (like me) who have tickets in the upper seatbacks or tiger terrace. Something like $660 to $850 per ticket for seatbacks and $1330 to $1430 for Tiger terrace.

Paid attendance was 98,772. That's a lot of revenue to give up if you do that.

It all comes back to needing a better product for people to show up.

When you people make this excuse, do you have any evidence of another school that has half the original attendance, or more, file out of the stadium at halftime when leading or tied against a conference opponent?

Let’s take a look at our SEC peers’ stadium capacities:

Vanderbilt - 40,350
Kentucky - 61,000
Mississippi State - 61,337
Missouri - 62,621
Ole Miss - 64,038
Arkansas - 76,000
South Carolina - 80,250
Auburn - 87,451
Florida - 88,548
Georgia - 92,746
Alabama - 101,821
LSU - 102,321
Tennessee - 102,455
Texas A&M - 102,733

Tiger Stadium is 412 seats away from being the largest in the SEC. The average SEC stadium has a capacity of 80,262. This means that a sellout crowd at the average SEC stadium would leave over 20% of the seats empty in Tiger Stadium.

Someone mentioned Notre Dame and Nebraska. Their stadiums seat 77,622 and 85,458, respectively.

Not to mention the fact that attendance is down across the college football landscape. I guarantee you that there aren’t more than a handful of programs who can get 70,000+ fans into their stadium in the middle of a losing season.

Notre Dame capacity 77,622
Nebraska Capacity 85,458
LSU capacity 102,321

One of these things is not like the others.

LSU has never filled the stadium and averages 70-80k a game, actual attendance.

The problem is that a lot of the people in the stadium are not really football fans. They just show up to socialize, drink a little, and be seen. Very few understand the game but they talk a good game. I've seen the same thing unfortunately happen to horse racing.
