What are Hayden Travinski's plans? Why isn't he in the draft?

He is in the draft, it's not over yet.
He's 5th year senior, his eligibility is up

I assume he will enter the workforce. I can't imagine there is much of a market for a streaky DH no matter how sick his mustache is.

He's old. Average catcher. Inconsistent hitter.
Smart for not wanting to go grind it out in the minors. He'll probably get a sales job making more money than minor league ball and get to enjoy playing golf.

He’s draft eligible but not everyone gets drafted

This really isn't true.

Late round draft pick or undrafted signee for about $10k

below average behind the plate and a streaky hitter...would be shocked if he's drafted

A team could draft him and offer him $2500. Then he would grind out in minors only getting paid when he plays. He’d then have to work in his offseason as well as pay for offseason training.

Basically a No tools guy. But a good collegian and glad we
Had him.

It’s not true on any level, but you have to look at who posted it.
Beloso was quite literally positionless from a big league perspective. Travinski will never be confused with an elite defensive catcher, but he is serviceable, and his bat would be more coveted at the next level than Beloso’s.
That doesn’t mean he goes that route and it certainly doesn’t mean that he’ll have success if he does decide to give minor league ball a shot, but him and Beloso are completely different.

History of significant knee issues at LSU and doesn't move very well behind the plate, that's a tough ask at the catcher position.

Workforce, softball all-star

He is in the draft. Heck we all are. They can draft anyone they want. He is hoping to get drafted and go play some more. Don't see him making it to MLB level but wish the best for him. He is a good guy.

He’s in Shreveport training and expecting to play in the minors.

2023 Beloso was a much more clutch hitter than 2024 Travinski
