I skipped a wedding for the auburn basketball game. They weren’t sports fans and shocked. Send a nice present and meet up after the game. Also, I had my wedding on an open week, but some ole miss and state fans listened to the game and we had it on tv before and after the wedding.

Mine is during the semifinals. Booked over 2 years ago. How the hell was I supposed to know

Also literally no other date was possible, so I can't be too mad. I'll record it and watch later.

I flat out wouldn't go and wouldn't mind telling them to their face.

How about the Army / Navy game?

Will be able to watch some while getting ready (game is at 2:00, wedding at 5:30).

Heisman ceremony is at 7:00 (so they'll probably give it around 8pm). Gonna have to "poo" around that time.

Skip the wedding and go to the reception. No one will notice you’re not there. Just say you were sitting in the back corner. It’s a win-win, get to watch the game and drink for free to celebrate a win!

People fail to realize that yes it is ok to skip a football gameday wedding, one could say even encouraged. BUT the rhetoric that they’re shitty people, selfish, and stupid for making it that day is absolutely rediculous as well. Spoiler alert not everyone does, or has to care about football. And it becomes an extremely slippery slope when you actually sit down and mark out dates to get married. In Louisiana there’s like 3 months when you cutout fall football, Holliday’s, and months where it’s 100 degrees.

I think the average marriage doesn't even last as long as the average years between LSU SECCG. So just tell him you'll catch his next wedding

My brothers is too

We are hoping for the late game so we can watch during the reception as the early game will likely end during the wedding

You and me both! The Mrs asked, when will LSU not be playing in December? I said the 14th. 14th it is. :)

I watched the 2017 LSU-Florida game on my phone at a wedding. I was the most popular guy there.

ETA: my wife was a bridesmaid in the wedding. She was the only person there who was mad!

Their fault. Watch the game during the wedding.

i couldn't do this. i get so wrapped up in the games that i lose track of everything in the universe going on around me.

i have to admit i enjoy when the wife says at halftime 'i'm going to bed' because i get to savor the second half in complete solitude.
