They're not going back to a QB that will never be a viable option to carry the ball

Spent 3 seasons talking about how frail he was, with constant updates on his weight

He plays in a few games and receives very little contact, yet is already injured indefinitely?

And nobody remembers anything about questioning his durability

I’m sure the organization does have an update on his status.

Just because you don’t know what’s going on doesn’t mean that “literally no one” does. That’s retarded. I’ll agree that it’s kind of weird, but if you are capable of doing any kind of reading between the lines you’d be able to infer it’s a weird, uncommon football injury and who knows how his body will respond once he starts practicing regularly. And since he’s an amateur, we are not owed any kind of update on his health. Especially in the off-season. It’s still January for Christ’s sake.

tldr: you have a point, but you’ve presented it like an a-hole, so it will be mostly dismissed.

i think you're putting way too much emphasis on the "questionable" status right out of the gate.

if i had to guess, that was being done the week of that game to disguise the fact that he wasn't going to play (lsu knew that) and just leading the opponent on. a game of chess so to speak. and after that week, it was known he was injured so no need to make him questionable.

as far as everything else, who the hell knows other than myles, his family, and whatever lsu staff and dr's are involved. hope he comes out better for all of this.

An update on his injury would really clear a lot of things up

For fans, but probably not for any future draft prospects. It is probbaly worse than what they've let on, but they're trying to protect Myles.

I had a torn ligament and high ankle sprain my freshman year and it took me about 6-8 months to totally recover. This was with PT and trainers, ortho, steroid injections. It was before they did surgery like tua

Myles doesn't have to chest to be an LSU QB. It is what it is time to move on from him

It wasn't a break or a torn ACL, or anything easily repaired.

It's a soft-tissue injury to his torso, and you require a lot of mobility and movement to throw a pass. "Healing" is subjective, and is likely going to be requiring a lot of pain going forward to get back to where he was before.

He has other options in life, as we all do. Does he want to go through everything, including the pain, to get back on the field?
Does he think if he goes through that, he gets the job back, or is it just to get to "an open competition?"

And the funny thing about this is that even after reading this post, which people will probably down-vote, not a single one of them will be able to give a rational explanation as to what is going on. The kid was literally questionable for a football game a 6 months ago and now he's somehow still injured without playing a snap since, and the doctors still have no clue what to do. I find this absolutely remarkable.

HIPPA much? This is not the NFL and his medical info is still privileged and private. Seeing as how he is a relatively unpaid player compared to a pro he probably wants to keep control of the narrative to protect his future worth. As for updates I dont believe Brennan’s progress has been the most prevalent issue on fans minds the last 4 months...

FWIW, CEO gave an update on his progress last week.

Does it really matter what's going on right now? We're several months away from spring practice so where he's at right now seems irrelevant.

protect Myles from what? Rampant speculation is never good.

Besides, if Brennan has an NFL future (I don't think he does, but that's irrelevant here), the NFL will get every detail of info on his injury.

Not revealing info to the general public is one thing, but the NFL will require extreme physicals before they draft a guy with a serious injury.

I think the "questionable" designation was more of O, initially, being a bit optimistic than anything else. It clearly wasn't a broken bone or torn ligament injury that was pretty easy to diagnose.

I spoke with someone who is very tied in with the team doctors when it seemed like Brennan was "questionable" every week and was told very early on the injury was season ended and that the decision to hold him out the rest of the year had already been made (though not announced). This was before the USC game. That is was a torn oblique, but kind of a rare instance of one. I think the medical staff treaded cautiously to try to avoid surgery.

As to whether or not Brennan is ready to go now, I don't know. Oblique injuries aren't very common in football. They are very common in baseball though. Suffered many times when batter swing and miss due to the torque the muscles have to endure in that motion. A strained oblique can be 2-4 weeks. If there was a tear I suspect the time frame for recovery is much longer.

IMO, I think Brennan and LSU wanted to avoid surgery so they just chose to let the injury heal on its own. Opining that it was a fairly severe injury, the recovery time via that method of treatment was probably extended. If he's out at the start of spring ball then I'd be concerned this may be a permanent issue that isn't going away. But until then I wouldn't get overly worked up

I heard the school was purposely keeping it under wraps so that poster Randpaul29 on Tigerdroppings would eventually lose his mind over not knowing.

Be careful what u wish for. Medical history is classified for your own benefit. It's a right so I'm not going to let it distract me. I'd be willing to be hes ready to practice this off season
