We don't talk enough about how absolutely bizarre this Myles Brennan injury situation is

Never in my life have I seen someone get injured in a game, be listed as "questionable" the next game, and then go on to literally be unable to play in another game for the next 3 months, THEN to still only being "80%" a solid 6 months later when absolutely nothing happened in between.

I mean what the hell happened? How do you guy from possibly playing in the very next game to STILL not being 100% 6 months later? He is either re-injuring this on a daily basis or his doctors literally have no idea what's going on. To add on to this, the doctors that have been monitoring him this entire time STILL don't know if they are going to go the surgery route? Spring ball literally starts in a month. Is he going to magically be 100% at that point?

There has been hardly any coverage on his injury condition at all besides the occasional obscure 247 sports article every 4 months, and pretty much everyone on this board apparently thinks this is some normal thing because it rarely brought up. This is easily the most bizarre situation I've ever experienced with LSU football.

And the funny thing about this is that even after reading this post, which people will probably down-vote, not a single one of them will be able to give a rational explanation as to what is going on. The kid was literally questionable for a football game a 6 months ago and now he's somehow still injured without playing a snap since, and the doctors still have no clue what to do. I find this absolutely remarkable.

I just submitted to LSU a public records request for Brennan’s medical files. I’ll let you know when I get my hands on them.

An update on his injury would really clear a lot of things up. Hoping for the best for #15

First of all, Myles is a pretty quiet and reserved guy. Second, apparently his injury is pretty rare in the area that he got it. Third, anyone who has had a ligament/tendon/muscle injury knows that it’s a day-to-day injury. You feel great one day and sore the next.

I don't find it odd at all. Sometimes the initial diagnosis of an injury is either wrong or incomplete. From what I gather, the medical folks at LSU initially thought it was strained muscles in his abdomen that was later upgraded to several muscle tears in some uncommon places (hip) etc. I feel that this was such a rare and complicated injury that the medical team was and still is unable to give accurate timelines of recovery.

There was an article or tweet last week that mentioned that he is pretty much ready to go and is just waiting on medical clearance. I don't know how accurate that assessment was but it at least appears to be a hopeful prognosis.

Rare injuries such as this are difficult to diagnose and even more difficult to forecast if and when he will be 100% good to go.

Day to day for 6 fricking months? Look, I don't need access to his medical records, but it would be somewhat nice to get an update for the organization about what his status is? It's wild how literally no on knows what's going on.

Does anyone even know for sure WHAT the injury was specifically? I remember hearing some sort of abdomen tear or something. But never anything specific. Just vague references to the area in pain. Bizarre to say the least.

he was never really going to play last season after the injury. I think that was a head fake from O to not show his hand and he stuck with it.
Torn abdominal muscles are difficult to recover from.

We have been given a rational explanation, you just don't believe it.

We were told his injury was pretty serious and could even result in him never playing again.

Abdominal muscles deal with Hips Back and other core issues. It’s was a violent twisted crash for sure.

There were people at the time saying he would never play again. Maybe they were right.

If he never plays again that would be such a bummer for the dude. Literally took one bad hit and his promising career as a QB may be over before it even started.

I think it’s pretty obvious that he was never actually questionable. O just didn’t want to tip his hand to opposing coaching staffs. There’s a reason why the very first rumor was “Brennan out for the season” before that was then walked back to “oh actually he might be able to play”

This is true.

I asked about Brennan a couple of weeks ago and people downvoted me for asking. I think people just don't want to even consider bad news.

The reality is that there is a chance that he never recovers. I'm not saying that is going to happen, or that is likely to happen.

But, given the timeline, I think the possibility exists and the possibility that a reinjury occurs exists.

80% is meaningless. The important question is when will he be 100%, and I think that there is nobody that can give you that answer or guarantee that it will happen at all.

Not to mention, he finished the game he was injured in.

Easily explained. Like him or not O is over his Head badly. His administration decisions jabe cost the Tigers. Yes he won the National title during the perfect storm. I give him credit very few do. LSU will never win at that level with O again. He is a top notch DC and fantastic recruiter. Under hire
