Downed plenty of Spotted Cow last weekend at a wedding.

Those frickers are serious boozers........they are definitely kindred spirits. Their strange accents are also an odd parallel to ours when compared to the rest of the country.

The Packers have a far bigger fanbase

I'd be willing to bet this is another huge difference in the states. You're saying in Wisconsin the Packers dwarf the Badgers in fandom. In Louisiana, LSU completely dwarfs the Saints in fandom. Not to say that it's one or the other, but most of my friends that I have that are Saints fans, would 100% rather see a successful LSU team than a successful Saints team, given a choice.

false

I have friends in Wisconsin and if anything, Wisconsinites can keep up with us. No easy task.

If you are heading up to Wisconsin with an idea that you are going to outdrink the locals, then you are in for a world of disappointment. In fact, you would be well served to begin a nightly ritual of getting blind drunk between now and September in order to even be competitive.

My best friend would completely disagree. He is from Minnesota, has family from Wisconsin, dates a wisky grad, her family has had season tickets and to green bay games, and her family still lives there. He still says no one drinks like people from south Louisiana.

I'm old enough to remember when drinking responsibly meant you remembered to pay your bar tab.

There's nothing worse than a thread full of idiots bragging about which population can get drunk better. Stay classy TR.

I love the folks of the upper midwest. Except for the fact that they are freakishly tall compared to us cajuns, its very similar. Very Catholic, love to drink, incredibly nice, love the outdoors, love football.

I think a big reason is culturally Baptists don't drink, but Catholics and Lutherans do. German heritage plays a big roll also.

Yeah there aren't many Catholics in South Louisiana...

I was in Minneapolis a few years ago for work and was amazed by how much hard liquor the locals there consumed on a nightly basis. When I called them on it, they laughed and stated that they don't hold a candle to the average Wisconsin native's habitual consumption habit. I smiled thinking that it must be some local inside joke, but when work took me to Asheville, Wisc. I was amazed that people could drink so much on a nightly basis and still be functioning members of society. It was not until Super Bowl Sunday that year when Green Bay was a participant in the Super Bowl that I attended a local bar to watch the game and was treated to a drinking Bacchanalia that I would not have believed had I not seen it with my own eyes. Those frickers were downing shots nonstop throughout the game and only drank beer when it served as a medium into which to drop shot glasses of booze. They more than earned my respect that day, and while I grew up in South Louisiana and have travelled extensively all over the world, often in the company of some truly hopeless alcoholics, I have never seen the likes before or since in terms of both quantity and consistency of the average Wisconsin social imbiber.

UW content aside, I was highly entertained by this post

In the Rose Bowl against TCU...it was definitely polar opposites, to the point of being hilarious.

I wouldn't be pandering at all if I said that I believe UW and LSU to be two of, if not the top 2, fanbases that really get after it. Of course, there's some shite that comes with it that is anything but great. Beer muscles, people saying dumb shite and getting aggressive over a game. I'm of the belief that it's a lot more fun to party with your opponent and celebrate together than it is to partake in a nonstop shite talking fest.

You can drink in all the parking lots around the stadium, in the yards of the houses where people park cars, and in the parking lots of all the businesses, so it's kind of a free for all. Don't be stupid about it and you'll be ok. Cops are cool unless you give them reason not to be.
