Can we fire McMahon already? Why drag it out? The guy is a bum. We’ve been lapped by nearly the entire SEC when it comes to basketball and help is not coming

This is a greater loss than Chest in my opinion. Vyc showed some good flashes and could explode in the right program. He wants to go play for a real coach and a real program so who can blame him?

That’s four players from last year in the portal now. As far as I know, McMahon hasn’t signed anyone yet. I see other programs getting commitments. Looks like the lame duck might be having a little trouble.

He might be a lame duck, but it’s a bit early for declaring it because we haven’t signed anyone from the portal.

The fact that we can't keep any decent guards for more than a year is the biggest indictment on McMahon. You cannot build a roster without consistent guard play.

Bad attitude got exposed in SEC play. Only good games he had were against ms valley type teams. Get a player with similiar talent with a good attitude would be the move. Your move McMild.

At this point, the writing is on the wall. LSU is stuck with McHallman at least through next season. There are no mid-majors left in the NCAA tournament, and many of the mid-major coaches worth taking a look at have made their moves. Wade to NC State. Odom to Virginia. McCollum to Iowa. Miller to Texas. Medved to Minnesota. Hodge to West Virginia. You'd have to take a look at Drew from Grand Canyon, Calhoun from Utah State or McMillan from Samford. McMillan is similar to Nate Oats in some ways, his system would have to have quality guards and he would energize the fan base. But LSU is committed to increasing McHallman's NIL budget and seeing how that turns out before letting him go.

All we have is cash for them. McLoser has a terrible record, only sec coach in 3 years that hasn’t made the tourny, he has no players developed while at LSU. He isn’t exciting or selling the program. It’s literally gotta be here is some cash.

This. It infuriates me how little he does to sell his basketball program. It’s pathetic

Expected but wish we could’ve kept him. He struggled at times but you could see the potential. I think out of all the freshman he clearly has the highest upside.

If he stayed committed to Oregon he’d be a lottery pick. This is a horrible loss for the program

Sadly, I can understand somewhat of a bad attitude. He probably has always played on winning teams and was a star, and he found himself sitting on the bench while much lesser talented players were on the floor simply because they were older than him. After half the season played out and it became very obvious that LSU wasn't going anywhere this season, it should have only made sense to play the top underclassmen, especially freshmen, and let players gain experience since we were losing anyway. MacHallman continued right up to the last game player upper classmen that had zero eligibilty going forward. Just about as dumb an approach as I could imagine, and now he is losing his talented players, and he deserves to lose them.
