I have learned CWW will NOT receive a show cause. He will be coaching college next year, was also told to keep an eye out for some potential SEC openings for him. So Scott fired CWW on the way home from practice over the phone before the NCAA Tournament because he wanted to bring in his own guy. Scott bent the knee to the NCAA when all he had to do was tell them to frick off. Btw this is not a slight against CMM, yes the team is terrible but I don't think you can judge him till he gets a full offseason and recruiting/transfer portal period. I want CMM to succeed bc that means LSU basketball succeeds. It just sucks that there wasn't a reason to fire CWW and Woodward set LSU basketball back years.

This was always obvious to me. Woodward was just looking for an excuse to fire Wade. If Woodward didn’t like Wade and wanted him gone, he’s the boss. But to hastily make a bad hire in some attempt to move on. I give him a grade of F- on his handling of the situation.

Exactly, Im sure Scott is good with words when talking to coaches but its not like he's going out and finding hidden gems. He's just hiring huge names with a shite ton of money.

You make it sound so easy. Do you wonder why it wasn’t happening to the same extent before and why it seems so rare elsewhere?

Everything I have heard was SW had to sacrifice WW to take the pressure off football. As much as I loved 2019 Coach O screwed things up in a major way on and off the field. Still hate that it cost us Wade and feel like SW should have fought more for him. Maybe he did all he could. WW made some dumb moves but BB was fun again.

Why would an LSU fan wish bad on Wade. He gave us some of the best moments in LSU Basketball history.
I hope he has success wherever he goes, except KY.
I'll always appreciate his work along with Brady and Brown.
Without those three coaches, LSU would have no positive history in basketball.

But for you to think you knew more about the situation and Woodward is naïve.

Tell us you are not in a leadership role without telling us you are not in a leadership role and, more importantly, a great leader.

So if Brian Kelly, Kim Mulkey and Jay Johnson come in here and win multiple national titles a piece, in which all of those three coaches are definitely good enough to do, are you and many others still gonna pretend like Woodward is destroying LSU? Because he seems to be doing a hell of a job to me in the coaching department so far.

If you totally suck at 25% of your job you think you’ll get a great job performance evaluation?

I hope he doesn’t. I’d be writing checks from my wife’s bank account if it helped LSU Basketball.

Btw I was also told CWW would not rule out ever returning to LSU but Scott would have to make some SERIOUS amends for that to happen, or there be a different AD.

Will (or fanboy of Will), please stop, you’re embarrassing yourself. This is pathetic

If SW felt Wade had to go then so be it, but then he needed to make hire like he made in the other sports. This would be like you fire Orgeron and hire the La Tech coach.

If he goes to another SEC school, why would an LSU fan wish good things for his program?

Anywhere else he goes, I hope he does well. He was good here. He screwed up by being clumsy in his dealing with certain people.

And Scott could have threatened to call a press conference going over IN DETAIL how Zion's family was living in a million dollar home owned by a Puke alum, WHEN THER WAS NO WAY IN HELL they could possibly afford to live there legitimately. (Woodward probably has a cordial working relationship with the puke AD however, and wouldn't want to start throwing rocks, because LSU lives in a glass house along with all the big time sports schools).

This is common knowledge among people who aren't burying their head in the sand (and pricky v and gay Bilas). Also recap the Chris Duhon situation, and how his family "magically" afforded the move to NC and momma got a job there is NO WAY IN HELL she's qualified for if she has a different kid. And the NCAA sees and hears NOTHING on the big basketball schools.

Unfortunately, Scott is human. He took the easy way out, and keeps his paycheck flowing, just like most of us would.

Emmert had to have been a factor also. If you have a solid relationship with a guy that "needs a little help in the PR department", and you can help provide it for him, you most likely do it.

I understand that football is king at LSU, but if Wade recieves no show cause, and we end up reliving the Saban situation in basketball, it won't be as pleasant for him as it could have been had he weatherd the storm with Wade, and then Wade going on to have a Scott Drew type tenure at LSU.

What a colossal debacle the decision by Woodward to fire CWW has become. So infuriating. Woodward obviously valued the sensibilities of Dick Vital and Pat Forde over the LSU basketball program and the players on last years team.

This is so fricking painful.

Wade had one of the most efficient offenses in the ncaa multiple years in a row. His last year was one of the top defenses in the ncaa. He finished top 3 in the conference every single year after his first.

He made the sweet 16 and won the conference (like Brady in 2000) and didn’t get the years like Brady to make a final four.

He was way more consistent than John.

As for those saying he had talent. Sure yeah he did but y’all need to look around at the conference recruiting classes now a days. He was not head and shoulders above the rest.

Wade was a snake oil salesman who’s best attribute (recruiting) was revealed to be a sham. All it took was a few canes boxes and a revolutionary war costume to win over the masses.

Because LSU, prior to Emmert and Saban, was one of the stingiest teams in the country.
I suppose the SEC Network gave a ton of money. Who else has hired three coaches in succession equal to Mulkey, Johnson, and Kelly?
In our history, we had never hired anyone equal to Mulkey. Maybe it was a result of Biden's stimulus or "Build Back Better".
