As a former LSU tennis player (definitely not under Sell), this is shocking, saddening, and horrific. I bleed purple and gold, and have always been proud of LSU tennis and our great university. A very sad day for our program and also university.

It's safe to say the tennis coaches known as the Sell's are done or at least Julia.
I do think this reaches the football staff in those that knew and didn't timely report or follow up are likely done, so someone is falling on the sword.

Doesn't our tennis program blow anyway? Like we underperform?

Verge is not connected to O. He’s in the AD. Not sure what you’re talking about.

He told them she attacked him and he hit her. Again, not great, but it’s a far cry from: the football team let this kid beat up his girlfriend.

The player, Davis, told Verge he hit her. The her was also an LSU athlete.

You can put perfume on your shite and it’s still shite.

Verge is going down and if he talked to the football office prior to reporting the Title IX violation, he opened up the possibility that the football office could be implicated in a failure to report or lack of timely reporting.

And that’s just the Davis case.

We assume the idiots at USA Today were able to Sherlock Holmes every allegation.

Not likely.

The firm we hired to do a thorough review on Title IX is gonna get their pound of flesh.

You really think we, or for that matter ANY, program can escape that.

I’m not saying it’s “fair” but winter is coming.

Verge is in a tough spot in more than one way.
He has to explain his own conduct, which may be hard enough, but he has to be under pressure to diminish the extent to which he conveyed all this information to the football HC.

Davis happened under Os watch. O deserves to be fired.

I mean we have a man that committed domestic violence in charge of our prize program in Football. Is anyone shocked that this isn't a good look?

You can claim that he paid his dues for that incident, but the fact is that your choices and actions even years ago hold weight and should eliminate you from consideration for certain positions, especially ones that come with power.

Not sure if serious.

At least 2 of the incidents were football players.

who is Kennan Johnson’s Dad?

Kennan's biological dad played basketball for LSU doing the Dale Brown era and her mom played tennis at LSU doing that time. Great kid, great parent (mom). I'm glad she is finally speaking out. I'm very close to the family.

Wouldn't the NCAA have enough to actually issue a Notice of Allegation against basketball first?

I'm curious did Jim Bernhard play any role in pushing the AD to protect Drake Davis?

homophobia, weight-shaming, manipulation and more under Coach Julia Sell, according to former players.

Homophobia? My right

Weight shaming? Coaching

Manipulation? - coaching

it’s more just showing that Julie Sells is a POS person (and has been since her first season here) so her covering up domestic assault in the name of winning/keeping a top recruit isn’t completely out of the blue

the player in question (Jade) was completely anonymous this entire time until Julia decided to to come out and say she “didn’t know about it” a few weeks ago, which is ridiculous. now she opened the floodgates for all the players to come forward

Homophobia?

Thats BS!

I can fear gays...that's my right to feel what I feel.

Weigh shaming? You're a damn scholarship athlete competing in the SEC... are ya fat? Yes or no?

Manipulation? I need context...

All coaches manipulate to get the behavior desired to help the athletes hit their potential and goals

Context....we need more

Hmm

quote:

In fall 2012, a player called the police after witnessing a teammate’s boyfriend commit domestic violence during a Saturday night team outing at a Tigerland bar, the players said. According to the three players, Sell held a team meeting about the incident on the following Monday, when she directed anger at the player who called police.
Nothing to see here. Girl drama

Each individual incident is not an “NCAA violation”, but if you don’t see how it’s all tied together I’m not going to try to convince you
