To be expected, nothing screams “we aren’t as good a program/job” as when a successful coach leaves for the same position at another school. It’s a tough pill and the only recourse is to run to the message boards and whine.

Some here did the same with Denbrock.

There’s no way you are a functional adult. Your caretaker needs to be more careful about what they give you access to

See how? It was the worst defense in LSU history. So even if the D is bad next year how does that prove he wouldn't also be bad again? Is he going to DC somewhere else? Is that how we will see?

I don't see how you can justify keeping House after what we just witnessed.

"Was the talent level that bad compared to the offense?"

Yes. We had a heisman winning QB and 2 first round WRs on the outside.

So what are you, college football is big business. Would you rather have a university that would not be willing to pay to put the best product on the field?

I really hope you got this wrong, or next season is going to be hard to watch, especially Bama, Ole Miss, and USC opener.

Hey captain miserable. Sorry you are miserable. Don't worry, you can still hate LSU next year. We don't care

Settle down

Dude believes we don’t have the dogs on defense which I agree.

Glad they hired baker but we need some players like we used to have.

Coaching goes only so far. Y’all can’t blame every single thing that doesn’t go perfect on the coaching staff.

Players have an expectation to execute. That didn’t happen this year either.

$2.5M. So, he's now the highest paid DC in CFB. By a good bit.

It’s 2.2

Mizzou was offering 2 mil.

Yeah I am going trust Kelly the coach who has over 30 years as a HC and has had only 2 losing season to evaluate his team.

So what is the rule on 2024 signed recruits transferring? Any chance that their #1 DL recruit that signed with them can transfer over with Blake?

Opinion noted. So, then what was the problem exactly? If you can say that he wasnt the problem surely you have the issue identified. Please expand on this. I’d be curious how you see the issues of a basement dwelling defense. Further, you suggest problem, singular. If you watched more than one game this year you would have surely seen a number of issues. Misuse of talent, lack of discipline in assignments, poor tackling, absence of QB pressure, and a lack of development and progress throughout the season. This D was a straight line from beginning to end. It never really progressed. If that’s not coaching, please help me understand what it was.

Happy for Blake Baker! Came to Tech with Manny Diaz in 2014, If I recall correctly, from Texas after Diaz was fired. Worked his way up to get to this point the right way. From probably $150K per year at Tech in his first season to 2.2M now, good for him!!!

—but why? Superior coaching. Players don’t win awards all by themselves.
