I guess this doesn't matter right
when was the first time the BRPD tried to contact him?

Nothing wrong with consulting an attorney. (fyi - I'm an attorney).
But in Collins' case, I just wouldn't stroll into the police station with my attorney at my side. Legally, yes of course, that makes sense.
But Collins is trying to get this cleared up immediately so he can get drafted. So if he's truly innocent, he shouldn't be worried about playing legal games to prevent an ultimate conviction, he should be concerned with clearing his name IMMEDIATELY so he can get drafted tonight.
People with nothing to hide generally don't lawyer up. That's all I'm saying.
And I'm afraid the NFL teams might not like seeing him lawyered up, again, only from a draft perspective.

You sound like a horrible, horrible lawyer.

I didn't look back to quote who said this...but never, ever take this outlook when dealing with the police. The police aren't looking out for you. Never, ever, talk to the police without a lawyer on something as serious as a murder investigation.

I'm not a criminal lawyer.
All I can say is if a friend of mine was murdered and the police wanted to talk to me and I was completely innocent, I'd talk to them anywhere, anytime, without lawyering up.
But that's just me.

"anything you say will be used against you"
not FOR you!
Talking isn't about clearing yourself. It's about the police getting whatever info they can find regardless of how it relates to your innocence/guilt.

Get a lawyer to be there during questioning, even if you're innocent. It's been proven before,it's money well spent.

I am thinking that he would risk is draft stock rather than risk going to prison and people that don't lawyer up are stupid.

Depending on the developments today it could cost Collins millions of dollars. The more this drags on the more suspicious I become that he might be involved. If I was in his position and was innocent I would be screaming that to anyone who would listen. It doesn't appear that he's doing that.

wow...no. Collins main concern should ONLY be handling this case properly. It is a fricking murder investigation, not some petty misdemeanor. The draft should be the furthest thing from his mind right now.

This is the least intelligent thing I've seen said on the Rant in some time.

You are spot on.... the draft will pale compared to a police indictment for murder.

If he didn't do anything wrong, his concern should be making that especially clear so this bullshite doesn't frick him out of being drafted.

It is pretty remarkable.

If there is nothing there, his agent should be on every media outlet stressing that he had no involvement and that he will be cleared shortly. The legal issues are one thing, but if he is not involved he is paying a terrible price in the court of speculation. Just think his agent should be involved in speaking up on behalf of his draft status.
