Come on bra, whens the last time you have seen a murder investigation take place over the phone? Everyone that is questioned has to be seen in person so they can try and read that person's demeanor. I can be smiling with my dick out while I'm talking on the phone and giving information.

Never said it implies guilt. And in previous posts I said they want to run genetics to find out the baby daddy.

I do stand by my assumption that them wanting to speak with him in person does imply he is involved in this girls situation more than we know.

If you bundle the request for an "interview" along with the moron attorney's quote on how they are working on an alibi, those things add up to more of a casual information request by police.

It does not imply guilt, but it does imply police believe they need to clear his name in connection to the murder.

Him lawyering up isn't a big deal. I have 2 criminal defense attorneys in my immediate family. It's absolutely vthevright thing to do. But his attorney's comment was just dumb when you consider it's draft time.

Schefty said many teams think he won't be drafted period!!!

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, which after trolling about these boards for a couple years, says a lot. Didn't Johnny Football get drafted? In the first round no less... He's a guy you KNEW would never play in the NFL. So now every team in the league is going to pass on a top 15 pick seven times in a row because of a chance he might not play?

The best thing that can happen is the BRPD catch the person who did it. It's best for the family of the victim, which is who we should be concerned about here. If that clears La'El, that would be fricking great and I hope that's the case. But whoever did it needs to be put down.

Johnny football wasn't connected to a murder investigation. The public and NFL tends to frown on murder more than being a drunken coked up douche.

I think all these lawyers and jurors on here need to relax, the next couple of days are gonna be pretty eventful for La'el and its unfortunate for him if he had nothing to do with this murder.

This kind of reasoning disturbs me. Murdering a pregnant woman isn't wrong because having an out of wedlock child "isn't the end of the world"; it's wrong because it's immoral.

The salient point about murder isn't that it's "dumb"; it's that it's morally wrong.

BTW: I believe, and fervently hope, that Collins had nothing to do with this.

I was really hoping that his name would be scratched off by this morning. 1. I want him to be innocent. 2. If he is innocent, I hope he doesnt' lose millions in the process of what is abolutely necessary in a police investigation. Just hoping that a tragic incident is solved and a favorite Tiger wasn't responsible.

Well that is just stupid. Why wouldn't a team take that risk late in the draft and then cut him if he's going to jail.

Being undrafted for him would probably be better than going in a later round though if he's innocent

I'm just going to say it-For the police to publically release his name is a huge indicator of where this case might be headed. "Witnesses" with material information are questioned quietly and behind the scenes for obvious reasons. That his name was released tells me everything that I need to know about where the investigators think this thing might be headed. That is a completely different proposition from any factual discussion about his non-involvement/involvement in this case which none of us have the first clue about.

I have my own intuitive feelings about where this is headed which like everybody else's opinions, count for exactly nothing. I will say that Lael's draft status being affected negatively is pretty far down the scale of injustice surrounding this case, that involves a brutally murdered woman and a parentless child.

I find it funny how at the beginning of this thread the majority of people were saying the BRPD was wrong and that Collins had nothing to do with this and that he's not a suspect and so what if it his baby ( you ever heard of motive) etc etc, but as you read people have started to notice something "funny".
Most people who are completely innocent would be screaming from the mountain top and would have immediately returned home when contacted by the police to clear this up ( which he has not done). And Tuesday was not the first time the BRPD tried to contact him.

There are attorneys who think talking to the police ever is the worst idea possible regardless of guilt. Police aren't always looking for truth... they are looking for what they can prove.
