We were competing with and beating top 10 teams when Wade was here. I want to do that again.

These people do not watch or follow college basketball. You see them repeating talking points they’ve read here but what you don’t see is any data or standard that supports those talking points.

I, for one, am not a fan of this hire. I don’t believe he is worth the buyouts to get him. What’s he done so spectacular at LSU or any other place he’s been since?
He made the tourney with 2 different schools 3 times in the last 3 years. He went to the tourney the previous 4 years at LSU. So he’s taken 3 different programs to the tourney 7 times. And that’s excluding his time at VCU where he went to the tourney both years. So 4 programs 9 trips to the big dance in 10 seasons. Thats elite.

He’s one of 11 coaches to ever get 4 different schools to the NCAA tourney.

Will you be happy with a similar record over the next 5 yrs as he had here in his previous 5? I don't think so. People are going to expect more - not just regular season wins, but consistent tourney appearances and he has not shown he can do that anywhere.
Huh? Other than his first year at LSU and the COVID year when LSU was easily going to the tourney, he has gone to 9 tourneys in his last 11 years coaching. He has taken 4 teams to the NCAA tourney and taken 3 of them to multiple tourneys. He has been impressive there.
He is not elite yet because he doesn't have Elite 8s or a Final Four, but he got sidelined with his best team at LSU that went to the Sweet 16 even without him and he only got to coach LSU in the tourney once. He also hasn't stayed anywhere else more than two years. We'll see if he has a chance to be elite or near elite here now without getting suspended for post-season.

Les Miles which was that I watch sports to be entertained and Les was not entertaining.
He himself was.. his defenses were but his offense later was not. But he was entertaining.

Do you have eyes? Les was by far the most entertaining coach lsu has ever had.

Are you actually entertaining the idea that somehow Wade is an elite coach? If so, just know you're a clown moron imbecile.
So I guess the coach that replaced him at McNeese, that won just as many games, is also elite and on his way to the hall of fame.
I hope Wade , for LSUs sake, wins every game he coaches. In an interview, after everything thats happened he said "and ill follow a few more rules"....or something to that effect. Hes a idiot
His thinking is flawed and it will show up, long term, for the program.
And yes, please God let me be wrong
I LOVE LSU

You may be right, but I wouldn't bet on it. LSU is a different place than when he was previously here.

Good is good enough. Elite will be acheived within 4 years.
It's much better than dead last.

No you don’t and don’t build straw men. Learn how to read, learn what basketball is and then get back to me

We have not seen Wade at a Power 5 school after multiple years with full blown NIL and transfer portal like it is now. I think he will be elite in that arena long term and that alone will raise him from “very good coach” he was his first run at LSU to “elite coach” this time around. I actually think it’s a better version of Lane Kiffin who was a “decent coach” that turned into an “elite coach” with the NIL and transfer portal.

Of course he's not "elite" yet, he hasnt made it past the S16, it doesnt mean it cant happen. What has happened is he continually takes just about every school he's ever been at to the NCAAT, and if you're doing that, it's pretty much inevitable as a 43 year old he's going to make some runs in there, especially at a major college now again and not a McNeese St or VCU/Chattanooga.

I love the whole bringing back tPear thing. Yes, he's an upgrade from status quo. But if we're being honest about it - is he an elite coach??
I would not predict anything in college basketball anymore since NIL. He could shoot the moon or flop. Very little continuity to MBB programs anymore and teams have to be rebuilt every season.
I think in a few yrs some of this will settle down because HS kids are getting squeezed out. The top HS guys are getting theirs but the 4* level guys are getting passed by right now for having control of their destiny.

lol you don’t say anything then you declare yourself the winner of a contest that doesn’t exist. That’s your brand exactly
Posted on 3/27/26 at 9:31 am to ChatGPT of LA
You clowns refuse to define what elite is, you ignore the elite things he has done then you spew a bunch on non sequiturs and self proclamations. You don’t know what you’re talking about so you obfuscate and avoid the actual topic as fast as you can.

He hasn’t gotten a long enough tenure at one spot to be elite. LSU was on track to becoming the dominate program in the SEC before the probe and COVID derailed everything. I mean shite his team won the conference and went to the sweet 16 in year 2. He’d have had us in the tourney 4/5 years if not for a global pandemic
