Universal Basic/High Income theories

I have lots of questions but let’s say it’s instituted world wide… would that stop illegal immigration to the USA. Would you even want to live in the US? Why not live like a king in Hawaii, Key West, Yellow Stone etc…

Have you traveled around to a couple of countries and stayed in the area that you could afford?
How would you build a house at yellow stone on basic income?
How good are the pilots going to be on the flight over to Hawaii under this arrangement?

The way this would work is everyone, including Elon, gets a basic low income. If you want more money to be able afford anything, you will still have to work.

everything would eventually go up. the new basic income would be the old below poverty line, then you would need to increase it again.......preputial inflation
like minimum wage..... raising minimum wage initially tightens the gap between skilled and unskilled labor. eventually you pay skilled labor more because they have a "skill" that demands more pay.
in the end, everything costs more and it will equalize

We have welfare. This would work the same way.

If universal inflation and universal cost of living and universal white replacement theory follow it, UBI won’t work for me.

The only rational case I have seen is we cut all social programs and just send everyone a check for being a citizen. I would be on board with that IF all social programs are gone. The money would come from the world accessing OUR economy.

It would be swapping a huge social program (welfare, social security, etc) for a smaller one. Yes. I didn't say it makes complete sense. Just the most rational one of all the UI arguments.

Universal basic income worldwide seems like a really great idea. Free money and no need for getting out of bed. Why not just put a million, strike that 10 million, in every single person’s hands so we can all be rich. No one needs to be garbage men, work at steel mills or anything lumber. We can just wish food and beverages to be there upon demand.
