What does that say about our coach?

LSU isn’t a place that has to risk it for a first time HC. It’s also a place that shouldn’t hire a DL coach as HC

Jimbo is 2-1 vs LSU since joining the SEC

What do you think his record will against LSU after this season?

I’m starting to think Pelini wasn’t the problem last year

refs handed them one of those wins on a silver platter (but you knew that), and the other was a 13 point win at home against the worst LSU team in 20 years.

not all that impressive.

Despite what he says about the teams performance being his responsibility Ogre does a good job at passing the buck.

I firmly believe Aranda was what held the team together and was the real head coach while he was there. It was a huge mistake not giving him the keys in favor of Ogre.

4)Brady

Joe Brady was NEVER staying at LSU (college level). It was merely a stepping stone to his ultimate goal. He did not like recruiting and dealing with 18-21 yr olds. He will be an NFL HC in the next 2-4 yrs. Brady interviewed for 5 different HC positions last year, but was passed over.

Here is Brady’s coaching history & salary numbers.
(2017-2018: Offensive Analyst Asst. NO Saints $85K (left after 2 yrs)
2019: LSU Passing Game Co-Ordinator $410K (1 yr)
Jan. 2020: LSU offered new contract w/ pay raise to $1.1M
Jan 2020 : Brady was hired by Carolina likely in the $1.2 ~ $1.5M per year range. If he gets a HC job, his pay will increase to approximately $6.5M / yr.

I do think Bertman could have gotten him back when he went to Bama but Bertman ego didn't allow it.

Please elaborate on this. How do you get rid of Miles who was 22-4 through two seasons to bring back the guy who left you? Seriously, I’m curious as I’ve read this before but honestly don’t understand how it would have worked.

You can add Pat Henry to that list. Skip Bertman didnt want to pay him more than Pokey Chatman and he walked to A&M.

My guess is that it will be Aranda and he will promote Raymond to DC and mentor him along. He will need a good OC and stellar recruiters.

This is a possibility, but based on Woody’s track record, he swings for the fences. I’d like to see Aranda win at Baylor before hiring him. He’s not known as an elite recruiter either.

I dont Think that’s true but he did keep the defense stable which gave o time to try 3 different offenses till one worked.

Bill Arnsparger? I’m too young to know how good he was.

he won multiple conference titles at FSU with different QB's.

Jimbo has certainly had his moments. However, the absolute shambles he left FSU in can’t be ignored, either. Truly great coaches don’t do shite like that.

He would have been a great hire 10+ years ago, but he will never change his offense, so I wouldn’t take him and his insane contract today. He won’t ever win a title playing pro-style. Last year was the closest he will get.

He didn’t want to be a college head coach anymore, but it would have been a smart move to promote him to AD instead of letting him leave.

Just going by how hard they worked to keep Aranda here for as long as possible and how easy the transition will be with some of the current staff.
