Signed cards at $1900?

For that much, I could get signed cards of Burrow, Skenes, Jayden, and maybe 50 additional guys in the Pro Football HoF.

Anybody interested in autographs and cards would laugh at that shite.

Can’t believe that everyone couldn’t see this coming for weeks.

Michigan's coach is a bafoon. Underwood will transfer after year one.

LSU doesn't seem to bid for anyone though. they let all those defensive linemen go last year because they didn't want to pay. LSU just gets scraps from aggy and in-state D2 schools. not a serious program right now.

It’s a serious program but it’s the “serious” money that they don’t have

I guess the money was too good to pass up...that said, I hope karma catches up to him for stringing LSU along all this time. Nothing physical, grant you, but maybe becomes an interception throwing machine.

Well to all you that pushed for paying athletes in college...welcome to the new world. You wanted it you got it ... and it will get worse. Don't blame Kelly.

College sports is destroying itself and will have to rebuild itself after only ashes are left. The current system just does not work and takes every thing that made college sports great and dumps it. It used to be that players wanted to play for a certain university and were proud to be there. Money played no part which set it apart from pro sports. Now college is a pro sport with no rules that mean anything. The NFL could not survive if there was no draft and rich teams could simply buy the players they wanted. And then with no contract binding them or free agent rules, the player could jump ship to the highest bidder anytime they wanted. Who wants to watch a sport where you know the school with the richest boosters will win every time?

I think the OP should read "Underwood bought out by Michigan"

The NFL is sponsored by gambling houses. Do you really think it’s a sports league. LOL

Never know, he could eventually come back to us as other players have. Michigan is a bit of a head scratcher because of sanctions and Harbaugh gone. I know money is a big deal but surprised he didn't go elsewhere.

Sounds like Tom Brady has offered to help develop Underwood too.

quote:

A shadow figure who helped Michigan secure its quarterback of the future was actually a legendary QB from the Wolverines' past.

During the final stretch of Michigan's aggressive, months-long push to land No. 1 class of 2025 recruit Bryce Underwood, the Wolverines enlisted none other than NFL legend and former Michigan quarterback Tom Brady.

A FaceTime conversation between Brady and Underwood a few weeks ago marked the beginning of their relationship, which grew over multiple conversations, sources told CBS Sports.

quote:

Even with Brady's assistance, Michigan doubted as recently as a week ago that it could flip Underwood, who had been committed to LSU since January. At the time, the Wolverines believed the nation's top quarterback in the 2025 class would likely stick with the Tigers.

quote:

Moore and Michigan general manager Sean Magee played critical roles in securing Underwood's commitment. But Brady's involvement provided an invaluable boost -- the latest contribution from Brady to his alma mater.

He's now rolling out autographed trading cards priced at $1,900 and jersey T-shirts for $50 with the Champions Circle NIL collective.

Why couldn't he sell trading cards for $1900 and jersey tshirts for $50 at LSU?

Exactly. It's a big hobby of mine and I just chuckled seeing that. Could get all those you said or a dang PSA graded 1949 jackie robinson. I'm sure he'll get some dumbasses to buy them though.

I think I might end up rooting against this kid harder than any player ever. Never really cared about Joe McKnight like everyone else, but this one just pisses me off because its screwed us in recruiting other QB's.

The kid made a brilliant financial move and hedged his bet in case he doesn’t make it in the NFL.

Some LSU fans still don't get what happened. Which makes the "Underwood will report on December 8" and "Underwoods camp pushes back" balloon spit even more ridiculous.
The same day that ESPN first reported the $10 million offer the quarterback recruit in Michigan's 2025 class "decommits". I doubt it was his choice given the state of their quarterback room. He's now probably going to Wisconsin BTW.

The whole thing was a dog and pony show even as he "reaffirmed" his intention to attend LSU during the Alabama game visit. These types of deceptions aren't orchestrated by 18 year old kids. They are orchestrated by adults.

That's why I said that the idea of a high school football recruit having a "camp" to spin to the media wasn't a positive.

This kid was gone weeks before his IG announcement.

I was not that deep in the conspiracy as it happened but in hindsight I believe you have hit the nail on the head. These recruiting and media assholes just would not let it die. When a player's HS teammate flip is headline news that is a big indicator.
