Under current rules 5 for 5, Chambliss is ineligible to play this year

I am using him because he is a star player and well known.
Every commentor on TV or social media is complaining about younger players would be losing spots because "NFL" guys are coming back... "that's unfair"
If I am following the developments correctly, the NCAA was trying to put an end to 24, 25, and 26 year olds playing college football instead of going pro or getting a job. The new rule ends the redshirt juggling game, and season ending injuries and/or personal reason exemptions that get you a Max Johnson at age 25.5 at Georgia Southern. I think his 5th school??
If these players can't come back, then Chambliss and many other have to be told, we're sorry but you can't play this year.- by rule, you are too old.
Why isn't this being discussed? Bad timing right? Because they were told they could play. But the 2022 guys told they could not come back can't come back because why? Young Players loosing spots? You are already a pro, even though you didn't make the 53 man roster?
Well...The intent of the new rule isn't being followed going into this seaon already, right? . That's why the judge and DA are lowering the hammer.
They will play and without consequence.
Because if they don't play while you have guys running around a 6th and 7th season. That means it's all a joke from the start.

It was also "unfair" to only give players a scholarship and not share the money. Now, most SEC starters make north of half a million per year.
"Fair" went out the window when they started paying these guys massive amounts of money. Whether people like it or not, it ultimately makes them professional, and incentivizes doing whatever it takes to have the best roster possible. 23 and 24 year olds are more mature and usually are more productive then 18 and 19 year olds.
When your roster budeget is $40+ million and most players on the roster make > $500k, the powers at be aren't worried about being fair to younger players. If they want to fix this, stop the NIL madness so that NFL players aren't choosing CFB over the NFL when they can.
Look at Dante Moore from Oregon. In any other year, he's entering the draft and would've easily been a top 10 pick. He chose Oregon for another year and, who could blame him, he gets less pressure, easier competition, AND $6 mil in the bank for playing a college sport

so if Fair is out the window because fair for little children's toys, and the playes are making pro like money in college, then the only thing that makes sense is to enforce your own new rules of elgibility, right?

Does anyone know when the effective date of that new rule applies? I only know it impacted 2022 players coming out of HS.

Some 18 year old kid from Mississippi is missing their lifelong dream of becoming an Ole Miss rebel. All because old man Chambliss used his cold from years ago and a corrupt judge to make some more money as a professional at Ole Miss than he could make in the NFL.

If LSU had pulled a Chambliss for a star player that was twice denied eligibility by the NCAA, you would still have the major of the media saying it’s gonna bite them and he shouldn’t play.

The NCAA has said he is ineligible. The Mississippi courts have ruled he can play. Guess we have to follow what the courts say.

If they had implemented the new rule in Janaury, Chambliss and many others out! and these 2022 players would be in college, not needing an attorney
but the NCAA put out the rule too late, and now you have a mess only a judge can make you clean up

The NCAA appealed the Chambliss case to the Mississippi Supreme Court, and the court left the injunction in place.
So, if the various 5-for-5 TROs are converted to injunctions and the injunctions survive the appeal process through the respective state Supreme Courts, then yes, they will play.
However, the NCAA is currently 3-0 on appeal.

It originally did not include the class of 2022. But then some judge decided that they didn’t like that rule and wanted it changed
