This is the problem with the distinction going on right now in NCAA sports. They're not amateurs anymore. They're paid more than 1st year professional athletes. They should be considered professionals at this point even if it's a step below.

It’s nothing that can or should be determined be semantics. They are not yet professionals until they cross that line into the professional league’s draft.

Is he currently considered ineligible according to the NCAA? Yes he is. Thats the entire crux of Lanes "you can't pick and choose which orders to follow". The SEC has said any player deemed inelgible by the NCAA is therefore inelgible in the SEC. Why is Chambliss OK and these kids aren't?
The cases are different legal arguments yet the reason for them are the same, their client(s) were ruled ineligble. No semantics change that single fact. They're all inelgible according to the NCAA. Whats good for the goose.

The NCAA has said he is ineligible. The Mississippi courts have ruled he can play
You absolutely know that Bidwell got payed off as well to make that ruling.
