Once he gets back protect yourself young fellow. I know he isn't reading message boards. but I am just venting. He dealt with a knee issue last year.

He also needs to learn when to quit on a play and go down. I like the toughness but when you're being wrapped up by 4 dudes someone is going to take a shot at your knees you can't protect.

That would probably hinder his cutting a good bit, and there is some science to the knee braces causes significantly more leg injuries because it puts the rest of your body in a bind.
I don’t know if there is actually a good answer to how to save himself other than just trying to hurdle everyone, which is really dangerous in itself. His height is just as big of a blessing as a curse.

Football is a rough sport. A knee brace would hamper would hamper the physically ability that makes him a unique talent. That is a 6'7 guy with rare athleticism.
The upside of being 6'7 is that you are a matchup problem. The downside is smaller players have to try to get you to the ground. That means they are going to try to take out your legs because they are at a disadvantage going high. As the bigger player you have to be aware of that and try your best to mitigate the hit.

It might help to have knee pads on his knees

I realized a while back no skilled players wear knee pads anymore. What’s up with that?

I’ll never understand a TE playing football in shorts

I wince every time he gets tackled. He’s all legs.

Players are always going to go low on a guy his height and size, inviting trouble.

The hit wasn't dirty. I'm saying he needs to learn to protect himself better. The players who have long careers in NFL know exactly this. Emmitt Smith back in the day never took a big hit because he knew how to keep his center of gravity low to the ground. Green is huge and tall his legs should be his #1 priority but there's not a ton a guy his size can do. He can help mitigate hits better though. He should be coached to do that.

That's easier to do when you're like 5'9"

He’s a huge guy.
It’s football, how else do you expect a DB to bring him down? they have to go low. There was nothing dirty about that tackle as unfortunate as it was.

Why don't they just wear suits of armor, like medieval times?

He can start by actually wearing knee pads on his knees
I know it's an old man rant but I mean c'mon.

Knee pads protect against abrasion and patella fx or bruising. That said, playing without knee pads has always struck me as dumb.
