Worst case they move him to analyst job if he wants to stay I would think.
Why move him to an analyst? You can have an unlimited number of on field coaches - that changed in 2024. Off field recruiting is still the same 1+10 though.

The issue is does LSU want to pay for an extra on field coach, and does Kiffin want him.

Kyle Williams is a 10+ yr NFL veteran , made Pro Bowl like 6 times & had a great playing career at LSU. Coach O played at Northwestern State.

I think if Ed O comes back to LSU, he tries to keep Kyle Williams around. Makes his job easier so he can focus more on other things in administration.

Would think both could learn from each others experience. One from the coaching side and one from being an All pro NFL player side. Win win for both if you ask me.

I'm really surprised at how many people here support Orgeron coming back to the program.

If they bring O in make him a special assistant to the HC. He can float around and help with the DL, recruiting and all around motivator. Give the title of director of culture. In no way should he be a assistant HC or anything with any power whatsoever after the mess he left this place in.

Keep Frank as recruiting coordinator but not as a RB coach.

And Andy Reid’s only significant playing time was at Glendale Community College. I rather Kyle Williams at this point. But playing career means nothing when it comes to coaching. In fact great players usually make terrible coaches historically.

Idk why anyone would want O over Kyle Williams. Kyle has been excellent and O is regarded as this great DL coach, but is he? Recruiting shouldn’t be factored in as much. Everyone is bought nowadays so it doesn’t matter like it used to.

Not that this matters at all, because Lane will bring in who he wants at every coaching position.

LSU has a Tackles and an ends coach right now. Kyle coaches tackles and Peoples coaches ends, so technically Kyle could stay and coach tackles if Lane wanted and Ed could coach ends.

Andy Reid’s mind and BeBe Orgeron’s mind are two completely different weight classes. I have no idea what KW’s wants relative to coaching big time P4 football are, but the Reid comparison is hilarious
