This is stupid, Skip won 5 Championships before Mainieri arrived, LSU Softball has never won 1 yet.

I think it’s fair to question whether or not she’s capable of making those decisions. It’s been ten years. Maybe a different approach from an AD that didn’t hire her will help her understand the changes that need to be made to her staff.
I'm curious if one of the assistants would move into an administrative role and bringing someone else in. Its a win for us and Beth can keep them around the program.

Torina is a great recruiter, pitching coach, and program manager. She has to get rid of Howard Dobson.
Make the change Beth or go down with the ship.
Stubbornness eventually gets LSU HC's fired.
It's inevitable......

I understand your position is she’s nothing like Bianco because of her super regional and regional appearances that you use to gauge her success. I also understand how fricking stupid you are.
Anything else?
Anything else?

We’re beginning to see just how much of an understanding Woodward and his staff have of all of the athletic programs. I can’t imagine he wouldn’t make such a suggestion. Hopefully Torina is smart enough to accept his advice and brings in someone to make up for her shortcomings.

She just needs to hire a new hitting coach or recruit Bulls like Alabama has at catcher and third base. I'd honestly prefer a new hitting coach, since I like our female athletes looking like females. Bama's softball team is bigger than Bama's linebackers.

Where do you idiots come from? You want to fire a coach that has been to the WCWS 4 times in 10 years. Before she arrived, LSU had only been there twice. What’s your success rate? From your argument here and the way you turned into a little girl when someone had the nerve to question your asinine attempt at comparing apples to oranges, I would say you are more like a 20 percent success rate. Get a life dude.

Is she, though? She brings in these highly touted pitchers and they always just seem to be "pretty good", but nowhere near dominant like they're hyped up to be. I'm not by any means a rabid softball fan, but I've seen enough of it over the last two decades to notice that all of the teams that win championships have that dominant ace who can carry their team.
LSU hasn't had that since Britni Sneed, and they still came up short with her. Beth had a really good offensive team about 5 years ago, and hasn't been able to put together anything like it, since. I'm not sure what happened there. But Beth has to also do a better job, in my opinion, of developing pitching to be more than just kinda good, but non-competitive against the elite programs.

LSU has good pitchers. I would not put them in the category of players like Hoover/Walljasper/Garcia/Faraimo/Fouts but they limit teams to minimal runs and put LSU in position to win.
Aces like those don't grow on trees and certainly not the reason LSU got knocked out from Supers.
She has a strong crop of pitchers coming in the next two years (Chaffin, Strood, Berzon, Johnson). Sunseri and Kilponen have developed a lot since being at LSU and should be very very good next season with another offseason.
I'm watching multiple aces in Supers get runs put on them already. Its going to happen but at some point the offense/defense will need to have their backs. LSU's defense and hitting let them down countless time this season and it did in supers unfortunately. We gave up only 1 run in game one and it should have been a 2-1 win tonight but the D shite the bed.

Are you under the impression I’m a college softball coach?
Otherwise you’d be comparing apples…..to oranges. But you knew that, you just don’t care that you’re a worthless ranter reveling in their own hypocrisy.
The comparison is sound whether or not you tards want to acknowledge it. Some of you in the fanbase develop these bizarre attachments to coaches and any criticism of them will not be tolerated
You’re fricking weird, dude.

I didn't say that LSU was eliminated solely because of pitching. I'm just disagreeing that she is a great pitching coach, because I have watched pitchers come here and be the same pitcher for 4 years, quite often. I am aware that aces don't grow on trees, but they are undoubtedly present on all championship teams. I well recognize, and clearly mentioned that the offense has been lacking for a few years now. I'm just saying that it won't matter, if you only have decent pitching.
Point being: LSU has to get better in every area, or this kind of season will repeat itself over and over.

That I don't disagree.
Hopefully she reevaluates this offseason and makes the changes needed to try to get better.

Sad the season had to end that way.
The season always seems to end that way. You can't beat Bama or UF, you aren't going to beat national powers. LSU Softball is a broken record.

This team was pretty young and played a bear of a schedule. Came as close as they could have to winning these regional games.... our girl at second base however should have her arse beat in the locker room

By now, you should be embarrassed you started this thread.

I hope Beth retires here. However, look at the softball Facebook and Instagram pages. This program has many soccer mom-and-dad type fans who bristle at anything said or posted about softball that they deem “negative”—the same people who think DeAngelo Sanchez is such a great fan.
In other words, there is no real push for Beth and Scott to take a hard-eyed look at the program in the offseason and ask, “Okay, what do we need to do to get from a top 15 program to a top 5 program?” Most softball fans seem perfectly content where we are and there is no real distress that our last trip to OKC gets further and further in the rear view mirror. That’s why Dobson gets a pass every year for this team’s utter offensive futility against WCWS-level teams.
Host Regional. Lose Super on road. (Or get swept at home.) Rinse. Repeat. The majority of fans, the coaching staff, and the AD administration seem perfectly happy with that. I don’t like it but it is what it is.

Torina is doing a great job at LSU. She has a very young team this year; hopefully she can get some hitters down the road.

You mean the next successful coach the Rant will start whining over and demand be fired?
