Name School Age Salary HC Record
1)Tom Herman Houston 41 $3 Mil 14-1
2)David Shaw Stanford 44 $3.9 Mil 55-14
3)Jimbo Fisher FSU 50 $5 Mil 69-14
4)Mike Gundy Oklahoma St. 49 $3.75 Mil 95-47
5)Larry Fedora UNC 53 $2.0 Mil 66-40
6) James Franklin PSU 44 $4.2Mil 39-27
7)Dan Mullen Miss St. 44 $4.8 Mil 55-36
8)Todd Graham ASU 51 $2.8 Mil 84-48
9)Justin Fuente VT 40 $3.2 Mil 27-23

Age matters. They have to be the right age to take over for an extended period of time and have the drive and motivation to recruit at a consistently high level. Patterson, Briles, Dantonio are too old.

Also, it is clear that LSU will only hire a coach with head coaching experience. So all coordinators are out.

Here is my take:
Herman is a real possibility.
Shaw seems content at Stanford.
Ship might be sailed with Jimbo.
Gundy would be great and is not 40 anymore.
Fedora would come in a heartbeat.
Franklin would recruit like crazy.
Mullen would be solid with our talent but is way overpaid currently.
Todd Graham is underrated and only makes $2.8 mil.
Fuente is too unproven and a long shot.

Edit:Chris Peterson, Washington, 51, $3.2 Mil, 108-24

Well, hold y'all's horses. Leslie will win just enough games to get another year to change the offense. Remember, as per Jindal, it would be embarrassing to take outside money to buy him out because it would look bad, being as broke as Jindal made it.

How serious of a player would Herman really be? Is it known that he wants to be in the SEC?

What's the lovefest with Mullen?

Yea, except he utilizes play action, throws to the TEs and RBs, gets his guys in space, and develops QBs. But yea more of the same.

Gundy, Franklin, and Mullen shouldn't be on an SEC list.

No one really knows, and if they say they do they are lying. Money talks and LSU is a top 7-8 job so you never know.
