Josh Reed is top 5 for the Bama game alone. 19 catches for 292.

Terrence Toliver

Him catching a TD from perilloux in a giants preseason game was one of the greatest obscure sports moments of my life. Terrence was a beast it took like 5 shots from the cops taser to take him down in that tigerland fight.

No shot against Aaron Anderson but he’s not top 20. Buster Davis was very underrated. Also, Jarvis was the better receiver at LSU than Beckham. Beckham could not be above Reed. Reed had the best season at LSU until Chase in 2019 and some still argue it was better.

A lot of recency bias.

Boutte was good, but we only got 1 year of him being a standout. He needs to drop. I'm taking Aaron Anderson off the list, and adding someone like Demetrius Byrd. DJ Chark is way too high, let's make him take that spot at 20.

Terrace was a great tiger. I wish we could have seen more of him. His spot seems okay if we are basing it off a few "what ifs".

Let's trade Early and Devery for Boutte and Marshall.

How could I forget about Buster Davis. I'm taking Travin Dural off the list, and adding Buster.

Terrace should be higher in my opinion. He had a 7 game stretch that probably beats any other LSU WR's best 7 game stretch. From the 2019 SEC Championship through the 2020 South Carolina game:

41 receptions
727 yards (18 yards/catch)
14 TDs

Kayshon's late 2020 into the first half of 2021 was also elite. He was a top 3 WR in the country for that stretch before tearing his ACL.

Devery Henderson has to be evaluated with some additional context. He played RB for two years, then his first year as a WR was when Mauck was injured. LSU QBs combined for 1990 pass yards at 47.7%. With more opportunities, he could've had much higher numbers with his big-play ability.

One of the underrated plays he had was saving time on the kickoff return before the game-winner vs. Kentucky in 2002.

LSU Riches evidence when Josh Reed is 5th on that list. A converted WR from RB, too.

ETA: I agree with the poster above that Byrd needs to be on there somewhere. He was one of the most clutch players we’ve had and we don’t win it all in 07 without him. Huge TDs against Florida, Auburn of course, and Tennessee in the SECCG.

The TD pass to Byrd with one second remaining against Auburn is a top-5 memory for me. What a fun and chaotic season.

I think this is a really interesting topic that can produce lots of good arguments. I think there is one consensus from you list, though: Aaron Anderson belongs nowhere near the top 20 of LSU WRs since 2000.

It's Reed, Jefferson, Chase and everyone else.

People forget what Reed did in a time of less explosive passing offense with less games and when they didn't count bowl games in official stats.

2001 Reed had just shy of 2000 yards receiving if you count the sugar bowl and that's still only 13 games.

In 2000 he had over 1000 yards if I remember right.
