I absolutely think that the windows should be replaced, but its a unique piece of LSU history that so many alumni lived in those dorms. My dad and grandfather both spent a year there. It's the single greatest feature of the stadium now that most of the coliseum look has been covered by the upper deck additions.


Just put new windows in every one and maintain and replace them as needed. But don't ever brick them over or hide them.

Nothing to do with tuition.

How much do new windows cost anyway? I know they should all be replaced, but we are talking peanuts compared to other LSU projects over the last several years. I do not believe changing windows out would require an increase in ticket prices.

although someone will eventually change the look/renovate it, it's something that just goes with tiger stadium..like i said, adds to the mystique..ugly it may be, but it gives it an old time tested look that seems cool to me..

but yeah, i will have to take a couple walks around TS the day before they do all this to take some pics..gota have memories..

This was one of the first things Alleva mentioned when he got here. It's on the table to be fixed, but it requires money.

This is an idea I can get behind. I would pay money to be interred in the best place on earth, and I think that would just add to the mystic of the stadium and scare visiting teams. However, I am pretty sure there is some law against putting a cemetary in a university facility.

One of my parents told me that the dorms were put in Tiger Stadium when it was built (or renovated way back when-I don't know) in order to qualify for federal funding that had to be spent on housing. I don't know the whole story. The same parent had a brother who lived there back in the sixties and said the place was a dump back then.

I personally do not think we should abandon the space just because it costs more to renovate than it does to build. That stadium is part of our history and tradition and we ought to work to perserve it. IMO, whatever the costs, it would be a money maker if something was put in there and would eventually make up for the initial capital outlay. Too bad we couldn't have gotten one of the stimulus earmarks dedicated for this in light of the story my parent told me about how the stadium was built in the first place.
