I would like to see Cowan get the start on Thursday. I actually think Cowan is better suited as our 3rd starter and let Evans go back to the pen. This would allow Anderson & Eyanson to stay on their normal rest. Anderson already had a short week this week and now would be looking at another short week if he starts Thursday.

Also, if we get the 2 or 3 seed for the SEC tournament (which is probably the most likely scenario), we wouldn't play until the following Friday.

If you want to start Cowan, you do it in game 3.

Hoping we try to steal one with Noot pitching Thursday. Would love for Noot to pitch so well that Jay thinks he can handle Game 1 of a regional assuming the 4 seed is weak. I understand this is unlikely. I hope they don't throw Anderson out there Thursday night.

If there is an inkling of soreness or tenderness in Anderson's wrist he should sit out this weekend.

Shores starts Thursday followed by Eyanson and Evans.

Keep in mind Paul Skenes threw 9 innings Game 1 against Tulane.

Did 2023 Regional not teach yall anything? Anderson is starting Thursday. Eyanson will be Friday. Evans will be Sunday, barring his need earlier in the weekend. Jay is playing to win every game.

Unless Grambling or the like backdoors a tournament bid that we pick up as an opponent as the #1 overall seed, Kade is starting game 1.

I’d personally pitch off on Thursday to give our horses their scheduled rest.

I'd start Schmidt or Noot. Bring Cowan in whenever needed like normal. Keep Anderson and Eyanson on Friday and Saturday.

after seeing Jay pitch Skenes against 19-40 Tulane in game 1 of the 2023 regional I highly doubt Jay would pitch anyone but Anderson in the first game of the regional

I love people that think they know more than the coach. I mean you get to see Cowan throw 40-50 pitches a week so why shouldn’t you get a say.

You don’t play for if’s.

What have you seen out of Schmidt that gives you the idea that he deserves a start in the SEC?

This is Jay’s 4th year. At what point are people going to realize he doesn’t pitch backwards with his starters. If they are available, they start on schedule.

Schmidt ain’t starting against anybody again this year and unfortunately won’t pitch any meaningful innings either. Hopefully he takes the jump Anderson did year 1 to year 2
