Two things here, Wade likes to pressure the ball full court a lot. Brady was a very good defensive coach, no doubt about it but I don't think that was his specialty, but I'm sure he could adapt.

The second thing is recruiting. I think Wade is going to look to get a more younger and energetic staff to bring the talent in.

Not Brady, but former Brady assistant Butch Pierre, to help with recruiting LA/Texas.

Lots of youngsters here who have no idea how bad Brady's last years were. If people here think JJ's offense could not score, Brady's was twice as ineffective. And he pissed off too many of the $$$ folks for him to get any support there. Nothing positive to be gained at all. Wade can go out & hire just as good an assistant with a lot more energy & a lot less baggage.

This. Hiring Brady as an assistant ( ) would open Wade up to having all of Brady's old baggage rehashed. It would be flat out stupid of Wade to hire Brady.

what makes anyone think Brady would even consider such a thing?

Imagine if Aranda got the Football HC job and someone started a thread asking about Dinardo joining his staff. Pretty stupid right?

Does Brady still have recruiting ties? I would guess not. Is Brady still willing to work hard? I would guess not again. So my answer is no thanks.
This! Plus his personality would be to want to be boss again. A resounding no!

No, not really.

Not a good fit here, since Brady was the former HC at this school. Otherwise...

Objectively, there's nothing wrong with a younger HC having older assistants who've "been there done that". Someone talked about surrounding him with younger, energetic assistants... Wade will have energy. A good complement would be to have at least one older guy, who's good with the technical parts, and has some experience to pick over for when you get into certain situations (say, a Sweet Sixteen game against Duke or someone like that, where the uniforms are as intimidating as the players wearing them).

Brown had Tex Winter, we saw Musselman here recently, so the more experienced assistant isn't unheard of.

We should expect maybe 1 "Brady-type" assistant, but I don't know who that would be in this case. Not sure who's out there, willing to sign on for a building job. Maybe someone with ties to a ferocious pressing team of the past? Anyone left from the old G'town era?

Tex Winter lasted one year with Daddy Dale. He then went to the Bulls where he was a major component of Phil's coaching staff for years.

Randy Livingston maybe. Several HS coaches in the New Orleans area would maybe make the jump.

"Louisiana flavor" doesn't matter. Wade should get the best assistants he can find. Recruiting isn't rocket science. It's not hard for a new staff to learn where the best players are and to develop relationships with the important folks in the basketball community.

Having a local "in" with an assistant coach isn't required. Sure, it might help in a few instances, but I'd much rather get the best assistants I can find and unleash them to do their thing - we'll come out way ahead in the end.

It wouldn't be a bad thing to have someone like that, in year 1.

Brady needs to get a job with SEC Network. Guy is great behind a microphone.

Would be good in the studio IMO

If I'm a young coach just breaking into a new position, the first thing I would do is to bring in an abrasive a-hole who is notoriously difficult to get along with that wore out his welcome at my new school. Especially when my school just jumped of the recycled retread train because it was a disaster.

Well, per Wade himself, it matters.

I'm amazed how people think of Brady here. I can promise you that if asked he would be interested in helping LSU but wouldn't take any job because he is enjoying retirement. The guy is an LSU fan and moved back after being away almost a decade in arkansas.
