Not trying to be Rantarded. I haven't heard that this is being floated around and I doubt it would happen...but let's discuss intelligently anyways. How would you feel if it were announced that Brady was named as an assistant?

I doubt Brady wants to be a head coach again. He has had some time away and I wouldn't be shocked if he wanted to get back in the game. Wade wants local flavor on the staff and Brady surely knows the lay of the land around here and I think he still loves LSU.

I don't think anyone questioned Brady's knowledge of the game...he just was a dickhead to a lot of people. However, I think enough water has gone under the bridge and I think Brady has had some "Coach O" moments where he realizes what his mistakes were the first time around and would be a better person if he were hired to the staff now.

I guess the better question is if the administration would allow it. Bertman was AD when Brady was fired so I think most if not all of the decision makers are gone from then.

I wanted Brady fired as much as anyone when it went down, but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him come back to assist Wade, nor am I advocating it.

Brady was a better coach than most realized he had us competitive and in the tourny every now and then. He also took over lsu basketball during the scholarship restriction from Lester earl. Having said that I don't think I would hire him as a assistant just don't think it's a fit

Does Brady still have recruiting ties? I would guess not. Is Brady still willing to work hard? I would guess not again. So my answer is no thanks.

I have a hard time believing Brady would work well as an assistant. Especially for a guy 30 years younger than he is

Let's pretend for a second this idea doesn't suck (it does) but do you really think Brady's ego would allow to return to the school that fired him to work under a coach nearly half his age?

No. Our new coach is young and we need to continue with the young energy surrounding them. We need assistant coaches who will light a fire on their asses of they get complacent.

I get that. I have no idea what is in Brady's head or heart...but if I had to guess, I would think he wouldn't want to be a head coach again.

I agree with most of what is being said...it's not a great idea. The number of downvotes bears that out

So who with the "Louisiana flavor" will Will Wade choose?

Yeah he's not going to be a head coach again. Only way I could see it is if a big time school offered him but that just isn't going to happen

Brady was about as knowledgeable about offense as Les Miles.

Yes, also seldom is a head coach willing to step down a notch and be an assistant.

Also, I hope Wade can bring in the staff he wants. I do not think Brady would be a coach Wade would want above others to help him improve this program.

Underachieved with some of the best local talent ever. Should have done more than that one Final Four considering the talent.

Based on his morning radio appearances, I don't think he wants to put in the hours or deal with the stress anymore.

I don't think Brady would be a good choice but it's not the first time that it's happened and many times with success.

I know high school isn't college, but I've seen several examples of a retired head coach coming back as an assistant for a young coach and being an asset for that young coach. I'm doing it myself now -- after being a head coach for 24 years and retired, I was asked to come back and mentor as an assistant and I'm loving every minute of it.

Terrible idea and a quick way to ensue your new coach is gone ASAP. You don't take a guy who was the HC of the program for 11 years and try to make him subservient to a new HC who has nearly 30 years less experience. That's a recipe for disaster.

Brady could probably accept being an assistant somewhere, just not at LSU
