BK can’t recruit/identify elite WRs. How many does he have in his entire miserable career? Will Fuller? Does he have any other 1st rounders in his 20+ years?

Special Ed brought in BT and Nabers. Charlie Weis recruited Michael Floyd and Golden Tate at ND.

It’s amazing how BK goes somewhere and their weapons magically go to shite.

I agree with this, but I also think they have been mismanaged due to our poor play calling. This is my breakdown FWIW (which may not be much).

- Aaron Anderson is fricking awesome and is by far the best receiver on our team IMO. He is honestly one of my favorite players of all time because he just embodies the NOLA LSU culture and is clutch af.

- I also think CJ Daniels is a great player and I was really pissed that his TD was negated because he has done nothing but give 110% this year.

- Lacy has his moments but is a diva and is not a WR1.

- I think Zavion Thomas is really good and we have not used him to his potential this year at all.

- Hilton… don’t even get me started I’m not a fan

- Parker could be really good but never seems to be available

- Sampson is seemingly a great guy off the field but teetering on the brink of being a bust

His “miserable career” that makes him the winningest active coach in college football right now? Get a grip, people.

I said that our WR corps was in trouble if Kyren Lacy is the #1 WR, and that has proven correct so far. That guy shouldn’t be higher than 3 or 4 in the pecking order at WR on an SEC roster.

Don't be surprised to see him balling in the league. He may be our most talented WR.

Has anyone considered that Cortez Hankton felt slighted when he didn't get OC and has (subconsciously or consciously) not been giving his all?

That would be beyond stupid for his next job. Like many have said this room is not great. Only bright spots on offense has been Taylor/anderson/durham.

What exactly are you arguing about in this thread then if you don’t think any of our WRs are great?

I’m arguing this point that you made..

quote:

They can’t get separation and help Nuss out.

This is my argument…

There are open receivers but Nuss has no vision and cannot find them. Nuss locks onto one receiver and throws into double or triple coverage because he lacks vision.

quote:

The whole point of the thread is to discuss how this group of WRs is one of the lesser groups that we’ve had in recent years. Nuss missing some open guys doesn’t change that.

Nuss missing open guys absolutely goes against your post of our receivers don’t get separation to “help Nuss out” as You Posted !!

Are you a simpleton? I find no happiness in correcting or arguing with people that are mentally handicapped.

It has a lot no ore to do with coaching and scheme than anything else.

Slown is an atrocious playcaller. Anyone thinking differently is a moron.

Hankton is not that great as a WR coach. He was gifted two players in Nabers and Thomas that had development before he came here and were just freaks. He can’t develop raw talent to save his life and you. A see that by his record T previous stops.

Outside of Pickens who underwhelmed in college, who did he develop worth a shite at Georgia?

Same goes for Slown as a QB coach. He gets guru status for what he did with a player that had 3 years starting experience before coming to him and then really had one flaw in his game and that was trusting himself and letting it rip.

Our assistants are not developing players and that is the issue. Even Anderson had a year at Bama before coming here.

WR is plenty talented. Anderson and Daniels are solid receivers with NFL potential. Lacy is good with the ball in hand and makes the hard catches. (It's the easy ones he drops).

2021 wasn't that long ago where LSU had Sophomore year Boutte and Jaray Jenkins as the #1 and 2 receivers.

Or he does see them, but doesn’t feel confident they won’t drop the pass. Football is a game that has to be played with trust: you have to trust the guys you’re on the field with will get their job done. Nuss doesn't trust anyone except his TE, WRs don’t trust Nuss, and no one trusts the OL.

Is this actually true? Or is this a made up rant talking point that gets repeated?

He’ll get drafted on talent alone. There isn’t much that is an issue with him that can’t be fixed at the pro level.

The main issue he’s having now is that he’s a liability when everything around him is broken, which it is. JD5 made up for a LOT of deficiencies in this offense that have carried over into this year.

There are still multiple nfl WRs there. You can’t win in CFB with bad QB play

Well BK did call Hilton uncoachable last night and Lacy yelled at BK too. I think there’s a huge disconnect between BK and the players. You can’t tell at these kids like in the past with ll this NIL money floating around. That’s what they need but it’s a semi-pro league now. The Saban-like sideline antics are a thing of the past.
