re: There were actually people that thought Nuss wasn’t hurt

Why would you play a QB that was hurt to the point of not being able to perform effectively?
1. The medical staff approved it
2. Kelly knew he was gone without making the playoffs, so he had no reservations about playing a hurt QB
3. Nuss knew that he was the best option at the position and chose to gut it out (it’s why players have to be protected from their own poor decisions).

Agreed

Anyone, with at least half a brain, that watched Nuss throw prior to 2025, could tell he was injured.
After watching MVB for multiple games, it's also pretty clear that hurt Nuss was just as good or better than healthy MVB.
I'm sure he also knew the offense better and was more of a leader so it makes sense as to why they stuck with him.

Nuss is going to be one of the last guys we ever had that stuck around and put his guts into the program because he truly loved LSU.
Yea I’m sure the million dollar sacks didn’t have anything to do with it. Give me a frickin break. If he loved LSU he would have declared for the draft last year instead of his and BK’s agent extorting LSU for more money for his washed arse.

Do you think Kelly knew that he would be gone if the season didn't turn out well? I think it's surprised how fast LSU pulled the trigger on him. I know it surprised me.

He was absolutely hurt. His throwing motion was distorted by his torso injury. He short armed a lot of throws with arm tucked too close to torso. He would wince often while trying to move about. Unfortunately , VAn Buren was not a great option to go to as was proven by horrible offensive play when he did get in.

There is a distinction between being hurt and being injured. I learned that if you are "hurt," you can still play, but if you are "injured," you cannot. In my opinion, he was "hurt," not injured. I'm not buying the excuses provided by BK or Nuss. He was performing poorly. His Heisman campaign took a hit after a lackluster performances, and he was told that his draft stock was falling. BK, Nuss Agent (who is also BK's agent), and Doug created this injury narrative to protect his declining draft stock. He looks great now, maybe he got that Mr. Miyagi treatment.

He very well have been hurt. But, he was fricked mentally and played scared. Remember, we were all hoping for a semblance at least of the jump both Burrow and Daniel's made from year 1 to 2. Injured or not, when that clearly wasn't going to happen, dude damn near went the Jarret Lee vs bama route. So, it was clearly a combination of the two. Injury and mentally. I mean, dude was slinging it his whole career. And then he suddenly can't lead the offense to more than 20 freaking points. Ever? Wish the best to the young man and feel for him for having to deal with injuries and Sloan and Kelly. But my God, am I ready for this new dynastic era to begin!

Assholes on here.
Hell yeah he was hurt, and Sloan’s play calling would have gotten him killed.

You should probably think about this statement and figure out why it isn’t accurate. This sounds like some shite that came off of a movie.

What a smooth brain take. Zero wrinkles.
Injuries, like broken ribs, impact how you play. No shite he played terrible. He was injured dummy.

Yeah we’ve all heard this BS saying repeated over the years.

Great opinion. Do you have any reason to think that?

You know this injury was rumored before the season right?

Only the retards. If you couldn't see it plain as day, you weren't even watching.

This is what happens when you play injured.

51 yards is the longest air distance?
Clearly they aren’t airing it out. That isn’t very far for a random good athlete
It’s not even a load and throw for an actual QB
that’s probably using “in game” scenarios and not just raring back and launching to see how far he can throw.
WR typically gets separation and the ball is delivered before they get much farther than that from the QB.
so it’s not that they can’t throw it farther, just the throw is made prior to it needing to go any farther.

became a bum overnight
You are assuming he wasnt a bum in 24, which he was very close to being. 58% completion in SEC play with more turnovers than TDs.
The tigerdroppings.com echo chamber will repeat 4k yards but won't actually deep dive into his numbers.
Go back, rewatch Arkansas. 3 passed that were INTs that were dropped. 30% completion agaisnt Ole Miss in 24 at the start of the 4th.
Bama, sub 50% completion going into the 4th.

you don't have to deep dive to see that 2025 Nuss was significantly worse than '24 Nuss.
that's not saying '24 Nuss was some other world QB either.
it's saying '24 looked good enough that if he took the step forward that's expected of 5th year seniors coming back for a second full year as a starter, he could very well have been a damn fine college QB.

So Nuss threw for over 4,000 yards his first year as a starter. Were you expecting 6 or 7 thousand yards his second season?
How many did Burrow or Daniels have their first season. Hell, Daniels had Nabers and Thomas catching his passes.
