I think a general fallacy on the board is that the extent of rich boosters has on the impact of a program overall. Billionaires got to be billionaires because they have smart business sense and their primary objective is to get richer. So just because OSU has a support from Pickens doesn't mean Pickens is going to open up floodgate of donations. He has a budget which is earmarked for a wide number of things and he's not going to exceed that budget. In fact schools like Oregon have to have people like Knight, otherwise they would be irrelevant in the college football world similar to Washington State. Those donation levels in the link I provided are based on historical donation levels which are reportable from public universities. LSU has a history of donation levels like that. Those donation levels exceed practically every other school in the country. Nothing trumps fan support and I think LSU fans on this board underestimate exactly how damn popular LSU is.
The prior link is to the study that I based my numbers on in the methodology that they used.
The narrative on this board is that LSU is poor and they are at a disadvantage in NIL versus other schools like Texas, Alabama,Texas a&m,and Oregon. I think a lot of people conflate LSU the university with LSU the football program. Funding for the University might struggle but the LSU football program is universally considered to be one of the five most valuable college football brands in the world.

In the last college football NIL analysis from a company that does this for a living, LSU is ranked third nationally with their NIL fund. It had Texas at 22 million, Ohio State at 20 million, and and then LSU at 20 million. LSU exceeded Alabama by 5 million and they doubled Oregon's NIL fund.

LSU's rank was driven by the second highest amount nationally in donations from the community at 75 million to the football program. This pushed your total support to 122 million yearly for the football program. This is practically tied for first in the country with Texas number one at 123 million.

Face the facts: LSU is not actually a victim of NIL at all, they are one of the winners, one of the schools that have a huge advantage on everyone else. This does not mean that they'll win out on every recruit. I imagine they have a budget and they're sticking to it. Their strategy is to stick with their budget and not throw huge amounts of money to any particular recruit.

Anecdotally, I've lived in all parts of the country and I see LSU fans everywhere. We truly are a national brand.

But still far cheaper than Stubhub I imagine? I'm so damn excited for this. I used to live in Florida and I hate them so very, very much. I went to Oregon at jerryworld, Wisconsin at Reliant, but Tiger Stadium= mind blown.

Cool story: I took my wife and daughter to the Wisconsin game and my 8 yo daughter was moping because LSU was down. Another Tiger fan said he would give her $100 if she started cheering and LSU won. She did and the Tigers came back. And then he gave her $100. She blew it on a damn Build-A-Bear.

LSU/Florida tix

I am travelling from out of state to go to the Florida game. We did this a couple of years ago for the Arky game and it was super easy to find tix outside of the stadium. Is this usually the case with Florida also? Is it a near certainty?

Or do you suggest I go to Stubhub?

Thanks!
Agree. I have lived in Florida, Arizona, and Colorado. I always see LSU fans everywhere. I just recently moved and my new neighbors are LSU fans. The best part is non-LSU and non-SEC fans generally like and respect LSU's team. I think LSU is a top 5 brand nationwide.
never talk to police

Never talk to police. Especially if you are innocent.
Well dumping the permanent cross-division rival is certainly the most logical and fair method of settling this it has one large problem in my book: we won't be playing Florida every year.

I like playing them. We don't have a true rival and they are closest thing we have to one and you want to dump them. We have a score to settle with them from the SOS years and you want to dump them just when it seems like we are getting the upper hand. I like that they hate having to play us every year. Those bastards fear us. I want to ruin about 10 more of their seasons and then they might have a score to settle with us and that is called a RIVALRY!
Are there usually tickets for sale outside the stadium on gameday?

Pondering going to the CWS

I 've never been. Does the GA seating fill up? If they do, how early do you have to line up to get a seat?
It seems like you guys hate everybody if they don't suck on LSU's knob with every breath.
Some of those pro-college games were somewhat competitive and those were against Superbowl champs. Indy is pretty inept. I don't think LSU would win but I don't think Indy could score what they wanted to. Indy 35-14
to make plays on the ball? It's hard to argue with 2 forced fumbles.

I'd take that bet any day of the week and twice on Saturday. It's debatable whether a one loss SEC team would beat out Boise. They've earned a certain amount of legitimacy over the last couple of years and have stood up in the few big games that they have played.

But we've done OU. I want a little bit of strange. But Wisky would be cool. Oh and the bama game was so bad that McCarron actually fell on his knees at midfield and started crying. Saban had to come out and tell him to "settle the frick down".

I had a dream about TM7

that TM7 had a punt return for a touchdown, a forced fumble, and an interception against Alabama and we whipped their miserable asses. TM7 wins the Heisman and LSU goes undefeated in a commanding fashion. They are the unanimous #1 in every poll and are acclaimed the greatest team of all time.

What current undefeated team would you like to see them demolish in the NC game?

I personally would like to see them get some of that Clemson arse with Michigan as a close second.

I agree. LSU will have a very hard time winning. Even if all of those stats were reversed, LSU would have a very hard time winning. You have a great team. We have have a great team. Anything can happen on the field!

Our two programs are at the pinnacle of the college football world and we get to meet on the field. These are excellent times brothers!
Wrong. You never speak to the police. Ever.
This video explains why.

I was at the top of Grand Mesa in western Colorado yesterday and I ran into a couple of German tourists with LSU shirts. They catch all the games on the internet. I was in Kohl's today in Grand Junction and a kid yells out 'Go Tigers!'. This happens everywhere I go and I've lived in Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Nevada, and Alabama.

I think in terms of fan support and on field results LSU is regarded as the powerhouse program. Think about it: we have 2 national titles, a quirky kick-arse coach, the best stadium, the best field with that menacing tiger eye, the best unis, perennial bowl beatdowns, the meanest defense, a bunch of last second crazy wins, and the best, most active college football forums.

Just this year we will be ranked top 3 and have the premier matchup in the first half of the year. I can't even get tickets to LSU-Oregon without paying a shitload.

I don't post much but I've read this board everyday since 2001 and it seems that that there is too much 'are we elite' and 'who has the best tradition' bullshite. I think that fans of other teams are scared shitless of us. We'll either give them a VT style arse whipping or Miles will pull some voodoo shite in the last second. I'll bet Oregon fans are secretly quaking in their boots right now.

Nobody wants to play us because we're big, mean, physical, ugly, and we might let Mike out of the cage at anytime. Are we elite? Of course we are.

What say you?
