THey come early and watch warm ups and watch the game because they have been doing it for years. They aren't "yellers" because they outgrew that years ago, or they don't have the energy to yell.
And they leave early because they hate to get stuck in traffice, which I will even admit is pretty horrendous. ALthough, I always wonder, where do old people need to go, other than to the bathroom?

frick the people that would think getting a new facility will suddenly make people basketball fans. I’d watch a game sitting in a lawnchair on dirt. I went to a Pelicans / Lakers game at the Staples center. I’d have thought Lakers fans would have been more docile being it’s LA. fricking way off base. They were lunatics. The entire crowd was into it even when those frickers were up 30 or so on the Pelicans. You can go out to Venice Beach and watch the VBL basketball league outdoors where “White Men Can’t Jump” and there will be 5 times more enthusiasm as what’s currently in Baton Rouge. The fricking fans there now just suck. I’m sitting here watching it thinking what pussies these idiots are in the seats now. Embarrassing.

It is. Saw it first hand tonight. Refs sucked all game. Student section finally had enough and started the “Ref you suck” chant. Loudest the PMAC had been all game. Everyone was getting into it. Then DJ cuts them off with some stupid dance off or whatever. Killed all the crowd noise.

Not having back to back tournament appearances since 2005-2006 can kill fan enthusiasm. It was always going to be a process to build the fan interest back up. No excuses, though, at the end of this season and into next.

For big games the pmac is great. Tennessee last year was legit. We just turn off for whatever reason when we play teams we are supposed to bear. The student section just has to have a few guys that help get people pumped up. Not asking for every play. Just most plays or out of timeouts or something. The defense chant isn’t bad. Just something. I truly believe players feed off of it and sometimes it makes players throw the ball to their coach on the sideline.

The crowd didn't really get loud until there was about 5 minutes left in the game. It's a shame to hear a crowd getting loud as hell the WHOLE game and then listen to ours. It sucks!

It is hard for the fanbase to sustain noise when every other possession results in free throws. It is just not an exciting brand of basketball for the most part. The ends are often too exciting, but the in-game action is has too many stoppages of play.

I guess that’s why Duke has been so boring and so stale for 30+ years lol. We’re ranked 11th nationally in scoring, if that’s not exciting basketball plz go watch another sport because you don’t have a clue. This team has already taken more 3s than the CJ and Shaq team that most consider the most entertaining offensive team we ever had so your narrative has no legs.

It’s gonna take a little time to build a real fanbase here. Not only have we been a bottom dwelling program with a couple flash in the pan seasons but we also have large sections of so called “Tiger Fans” who want basketball to fail Nd hate the sport. We also need to renovate the PMACs interior, especially the student section. Wade’s patience won’t hold out forever and Woody has to make good on promises or he’ll leave us.

They just aren't used to winning and when we start to lose they feel almost violated... so they don't know how to reac, because Louisiana has so much passion they almost feel like they got cheated on if we start to lose..
