The SEC wants legal immunity

They want the federal government to grant them legal immunity to do whatever they feel like doing to LSU without legal redress.
That is my understanding of what is taking place today.
Pretty f*****g bold considering "legal redress" is protected as a constitutional right under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees the right to "petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Someone please correct me if I am wrong on this.

And a Muslim father doesn't want the courts to tell him he can't kill his own daughter for embarrassing him/negatively affecting his honor. Guess what? He can't do it. It's illegal - at least it is here in the United States.

The legal redress applies only the the US government. The constitution only applies to fedgov despite SCOTUS’s claims to the contrary.

The vaccine companies were granted legal immunity during Covid. The alternative was not putting it on the market for use, when it was promising. What is the tradeoff for giving the SEC immunity?

You’re right. As I mentioned in a prior post, the SEC is not even an entity. It is labeled an unincorporated association which essentially means a group of entities. Each of those entities is subject to the laws of their state; therefore, the SEC is subject to the laws of each state in which it has a member. Period. It cannot pick and choose which states’ laws it will follow.

Please clarify because it’s the NCAA roles of which the SEC has to abide by
The SEC cannot have their own eligibility rules
What they did is they came out with penalties to universities if they did not concede to this NFL nonsense
The NCAA change the rules after the draft
That’s the problem
And if they want to keep pushing it, I think there’s going to be an attorney that’s gonna come rolling for the quarterback at Ole Miss because he’s playing his sixth season
The irony is it’s the very thing that the SEC is upset about is they went out and got an attorney to just overrule the NCAA
