The melt was surprisingly tame

For such an early season loss in a game that was so hyped up and that I think a lot of us honestly thought we would win, nobody seems to really be in panic mode. Yeah Baker can’t continue to let that happen, but I think we could all tell it was not a personnel problem as much as the staff being scared of getting beat by Trinidad. Well guess what, it happened anyway.
And Leavitt is a concern but like we’ve been saying, he walked into a buzz saw in his first SEC road game. There’s plenty of time for him to improve and develop over the season. Obviously we expected more out of him, but I truly think he’ll improve.
All that to say I think we know that we still have a really solid team despite the L, and the rest of the season will reflect how they respond. It’ll be a grind, but 10-2 is still doable and honestly even at 9-3 there’s still a shot at the playoffs (look at Alabama last year). Next challenge: beat the hell out of A&M.

Because for most LSU fans this game wasn’t the season like Ole Miss fans and realize this is year one in the Kiffin era.

We go out and put on a similar performance against faggie, then I’ll worry. Sam needs a LOT of work, D needs better schemes, but overall we can win at a high level if they keep it together.

I think most reasonable people understand that winning on the road in the SEC is hard, especially when the opponent has the best QB in the conference. But all of our goals are still accomplishable right now.
Now if Reed has a 3rd monster game against us in a row next week and we lose to TAMU? The melt is going to be real if that happens.

I think most of us realized that we aren't a championship team like we thought, at least not at the moment. I said all along this game will determine if we are legit. OM is not that good. They will be 9-3 at the very best.

Just have to wonder if we change our defense after their second TD I mean we just left them wide open on that soft zone bullshite defense in the first half

I felt like we would struggle early in the schedule and finish a better team. To me the wildcard was Leavitt and his health. He is definitely talented but his passing mechanics and sloppy. I am hoping that will get better the longer he’s with Kiffin. I hated losing last night, but I am optimistic in our future. We are in the hunt for championships again. With BK, I didn’t feel like that was the case

We had every opportunity in the 4th qtr to win that game. Inside the 10 twice and came away with 3 points.

Baker always makes good adjustments, but my question is, why does he wait until halftime? He can see what we see early on....and kept rolling out the same D in the first half.

I think it helps that with expanded playoffs one loss isn't the end. Especially a road loss to another top 10 team

Gentle reminder football is 4 quarters and baseball is 9 innings. The early game rants are always the best on this board.

I think a big part of it is that we recognize what an absolute unit of a qb Chambliss is. Any other qb and LSU likely wins that game. Of course, LSU still could have won had Levitt not been so inaccurate and the D wasn't Charmin on 3rd downs, but again, that was a lot of Chambliss doing Chambliss things. He was the biggest X factor in the game and most of us realize it.

Alabama was 10-2 last regular season - the third loss was in SEC Championship to Georgia, who they beat regular season.
Still possible to have a 9-3 team in this year, but last year's Bama team not a good example.
